Round 3 Results

Well folks the group stage is complete. All votes have been counted and verified and I can now reveal those final group standings.


GROUP A



At one stage Queen had 7 number 1 votes out of 7, more than secured their qualifying spot alongside the front runners throughout, Tears for Fears.

So, it's commiserations and thanks for taking part to

GROUP B



What a performance from The Cure, dominating their group from start to finish. And how about irony that The Smiths song "Panic" was the tune that caused the least anxiety with their lowest score in Round 2.

GROUP C



This group wasn't quite as clear cut as it may seem, with each artist in isolation in with a chance. The mega low scored of 13 and 14 meant the qualifying spots were secured for New Order and Michael Jackson.

And so to our closest battle for a qualifying spot, and taking it was Talking Heads, along with group winners Big Country. And who would have guessed that Tina got her best score with The Best?!

Shocked that INXS and Simple Minds dropped out. Group A was solid. Those 2 in any other group would have went through easily.

 

Aye it was a tough Group A, felt that Simple Minds needed to go bigger early to have a chance tho.

 

Yeah some huge songs left on the shelf for Simple Minds. Don’t you Forget About Me, Alive and Kicking to name two would have seen them through

 

Cheeky edit there. Glittering Prize was the round 1 song. Point stands though.

So bittersweet listening to Michael Hutchence (INXS) & Whitney Houston and the absolute talent they each had and what would happen to them. Very different but no less tragic and appreciate the repping, @Garrymac1888 & @V For Vendetta

Knew INXS where in trouble when I seen the group, but they are the only group from the 80s I know and totally love "in excess" 9 of their songs from one decade.

Not angry about the voting, just disappointed in you all.

 

The quality, even now of what they did in the eighties, amazed me in the scores they got tbh...

 

Just waiting on confirmation of something and we will be good to go with the QFs innit
