I live in North London. All my Arsenal pals absolutely love him. They laugh about getting him on the cheap - they rate him above £60m.

I hope one day we actually get the going rate for talent. I know we can only do so much when the player wants away but why do Dutch, Belgian, Portuguese based players go for considerably more than ours? It's not like we haven't produced players recently that have gone on to feature in Champions League finals (and even win it) and be some of the best EPL players (and even win it).

 

They have produced for about 20 years consistently, in the case of the Dutch much longer than that.

With Van Dijk’s success, now Tierney’s we should get higher prices.

the reason we got Tierney’s price was down to Wanyama, Forster and Van Dijk’s success.

We’re building up the reputation to get a going rate.

Haha I'm impatient. I want it now. We have a track record of top players and we should be paid the going rate.

 

It's why it is always in our interest for our players to do well when they move in, even if their departure is acrimonious.

The only exception to that is Christie, hope he fails the wee *.

 

170 games for Celtic and how many times did we say at the end of a game * * Tierney was shocking? Probably none, unbelievable consistency from such a young player. There was a couple times he was below his very high standard but that was coming back fork injury. What a talent.

 

Will go down as one of the best Scottish players in history. Some kiddo.

 

Wonder if he'll move in the summer.

 

We did very well to get £25m for him regardless of what we all thought of him. Same way we don’t pay true value for players playing in Scandinavia or for the David Turnbulls of the world. There is risk involved which kills the transfer fee. In the case of Turnbull/Tierney they were unproven playing at a much better football team. We were never getting a penny over £25m for Tierney given what he proved at us.

 

Too many times we as a fan base were told Robbo was the best left back in the world well I say * them they all see now who’s the better player

Think van * was ten percent, so I’d say about that tbh. At least that’s a guaranteed £20m in the next few years

 

See Tierney off at half time injured against Liverpool- hes definitely got the potential and ability to be a top class Left back but it’s continually looking over last 2 or 3 years that hes one of those players who is very injury prone and seems to just as hes coming really good he ends up injured again, this could sadly stop him fulfilling his full potential especially this happening at such a young age fairly often now might be why and no other reason but why teams like Manchester City and the likes may not pay massive money for him

 

Looked like it could be a bad one as well, perhaps ligament damage which could end his season

 

Off the top of my head Darren anderton and Michael Owen. Two lads who could play against older age groups while they were growing up and paid the price for it in later life with continuous injury problems. We did the same with Kieran tbh, playing him while injured and his body still developing against more physically developed lads. Now those knocks he took are still there on a fully developed man . Sad....

 

Rodgers * him, Lenny too (to a lesser extent obviously) and Arteta barely rests him since he came in as manager, Clarke as well. Its a shame how injuries have * his progress
