Erik Sviatchenko can still vividly recall the day Scott Brown charged him £600 to go to the toilet. Perhaps a little too vividly.

The scene was the Celtic team hotel in an industrial estate just outside of Glasgow when nature came calling for the big Danish defender. So, too, did his captain. The club's "fine minister".

"Normally we would go for a walk first but I'd misunderstood," explains Sviatchenko in mitigation.

"I was there for a couple of minutes then I thought we would have our pre-match meal, but they had gone for a walk first. I can remember that Kris Ajer and Stuart Armstrong were doing this 'quickly, quickly, quickly'.

"I knew Scott Brown had seen me turning up late and then there was obviously a fine. I thought it was much higher than it was so when I said to him, 'okay, I know that I was late, I'll pay £600', he said immediately, 'yeah, OK, let's do that'.

The punishment for his effervescence is justified by Sviatchenko. He laughs as he claims that the money went to a "great cause". A follow-up question over charity donations is quickly corrected to point out he means a kitty for the team night out.

Unpopular opinion but shouldn't start in league again for us this season

I don't think that's an unpopular opinion at all. I'd be fine with it. Although he'll definitely play in order to get a send off from the club.

Think it speaks volumes the amount of players that played under brown as captain that comment on his influence and personality in the dressing room. Gave his all for the club and maximised his talent through sheer hard work, determination and passion. Utter legend

The word legend is bandied about all too often, but in Broony's case it really is appropriate, he's cemented his place in the Celtic history books, no question about that.

KIERAN TIERNEY believes that Scott Brown will be a 'top manager' and a 'pleasure to work under'.

He admits it will be strange to see Scott Brown in an Aberdeen jersey – but knows it is the right move for the Celtic captain.

And Tierney, who played with Brown at Celtic before moving south to join Arsenal has no doubts the success enjoyed by the midfielder as a player will be mirrored in the dugout.

I think it is only a matter of time when he chooses to finish playing for good. He will be a top manager because he is a winner. He likes to win and knows how to win,” Tierney said.

“It would be a pleasure to play under him, he’d be some manager, he’d get everyone working for him.

Him at Celtic was all we’ve ever really known, obviously he played at Hibs when he was young but for the last 13 or 14 years you’ve only known him at Celtic so it’s hard to picture him anywhere else. So, a surprise in that sense but it’s obviously a great move for him and what he wants to do in his career.

“I don’t think words would do Scott Brown justice, for what he’s done for me and the club. He’s a legend, the word gets used a lot these days but he is the definition of a legend. He helped me so much and I’m so thankful for him.

I find it plain weird that a lot of fans now outright dislike him because he “lied about being a true fan because no true fan would ever leave us”.

Absolute nonsense. I don’t really care about him any more because he’s not at Celtic but I wish him the best and like to see him do well.

interesting that he points out the concerns over waiting till the end of the season to find out who the next manager is going to be.

No issue with that at all, but trying to read between the lines and the situation we have here, I find it highly unlikely we are THAT poor at running a football club that we are nowhere near close to appointing a new manager, if not already done so in all but signing on the dotted line per-se.

Mid Feb to mid May is a stupid length of time to wait, the club will be far down their process and I would imagine someone like Brown, captain and everything, would be made privvy to who is the incoming man, before anyone else - he would surely be as far in the loop as can be, without being around the table.

I reckon he already knows who's coming in and perhaps the direction likely to be taken.

Which would point to Howe or Maresca surely, less so Clarke or Keane, as the former is unlikely to utilise Brown as much as the latter.
