The bit that deeply concerns me about the statement is how poorly it seems to read the room again.

Forget the media and pundits, supporters are crying out to know what’s going on and have a say in how the club moves forward. Now I know 100,000’s of voices can’t all be heard but many you hear are calling for similar things just now and that is the club to be run like a football club for supporters first and a business second.

I don’t mean put the future in jeopardy or anything like that but to recognise the fact that a good football product is the only way to fully capitalise on the business side.

All this chat that effectively says “we the board know best, and we will make our decisions in private and let you the supporters of the club know when we are ready”, that attitude absolutely stinks. The arrogance of it is ridiculous and just shows how out of touch both he and the board are.

What they actually do in terms of the new footballing appointments at the end of all this will be telling, as it sounds like McKay is coming in to be another puppet. Desmond should save the club some cash on Bankier as that sort of statement today really should have come from a Chairman not a majority shareholder but there’s no surprise it didn’t with Bankier being the invisible man as usual.

How much is this guy actually worth?

All I could hear there was the characters from Charlie Brown that when they spoke you heard a trumpet noise.

    I heard that trumpet.

It’s not JK and they are admitting they made a * up with a few decisions, which is good for a start anyway.

Can the new CEO play a part in the hiring of the new manager if he’s not here yet? Didn’t quite get that bit because we can’t wait til July?

He’s right about a big transitional period whether we won the league or not. Time to get our act together in Europe, the success domestically has been brilliant but in Europe its been a mess.

It seems that the board is still wildly out of touch with the support. That doesn't bode well for the future.

To be fair, he's hardly about to say "aye we are still paying Peter a wage, but we decided he doesn't need to work for it any more".

It was good to see he did add in the new CEO is having a say in things, which we all assumed would be the case but still had slight fears we are that * that we wouldn't be getting him involved.

EXACTLY. A reminder that this * and this board and this ceo and this tory * have remained silent at key moments in out history. They only come out when someone has a pop at them.

    * the lot.

The first time I feel that someone from the clubs bluntly admitted they * up as a collective and meant it.

Aye, the new CEO will have a say, he won't be doing the leg work at all, but I'm sure when we drew up a list of candidates that we hadn't already * off 3 years ago, then McKay will have been offered the list to run his eye over and give any suggestions.
He won't sit in any interviews (I wouldn't imagine) but he will be forwarded transcripts or break downs of each one.

    "still in the Scottish cup"
Reckon he was trolling the club as a whole with that one.
Things not even started yet, of course we are still in it...just.

    Oh, * off you *.

We literally said this would happen in October. You told us we were wrong. The season has ended and we were right.

    *.

He goes onto say that he isn't making us fan owned but bangs on about being a fan himself. If he really was, he'd believe that we need more of a say but he clearly thinks that he and his mates at the top of Celtic FC know more than us measly knuckle draggers.

A heart attack would be too good for this *.

Overall a lot of words to tell us very little to nothing.
Some reading between the lines is indeed needed.

Firstly, Desmond has spoken out, which is not common. Although it is preplanned company media, so take that as you will.
But this is normally something lawwell would have done, Desmond taking this reign shows at least he is taking some form of active involvement.

Secondly, the pop at Dempsey is clearly something he wanted to say most, since everything else is absolutely pointless drivel that doesn't tell us much. I'm a little annoyed with this, not that he's taken the pop, but that he's not really grasped the complaints.
Admittedly, I've not read the complaints from Dempsey, but I've mentioned it a couple times now that the way the club is operated/who it's operated by is very much like the 1994 time. Where it's jobs for the boys and certain people are paid handsomely for their own sake and not the sake of the club.
It's dressed up differently, but it is eerily similar.

    Thirdly, the incoming manager/head coach.
Refusal to tell us who/what sort of manager they are chasing is weird, specially considering this is a company made interview that is pre planned. Why bother asking that question, to just refuse to tell us anything?
Or is it more what's not said?
There are obviously a handful of names kicking about with a couple being now generally dismissed and realistically only two in the final running.
Marsch, Howe and Clarke are no goes. Howe has been too long to wait for and clearly just isn't going to be the case (though Webb doing the podcast scene a few weeks back still seems odd). Marsch has distanced himself again and most noise from Austria and Germany point to him staying in those parts.
Clarke for me is a no go, he won't leave before the euros and we simply can't wait that long either.

This now leaves maresca or Keane.

To openly discuss what type of manager they are chassing would be too big a sign to which one of these two we are well down the path for. In fact, if not already job done.
"Modern, focus on young development, ambitious" are terms we want to hear, he says that and we know it's maresca.
He says "steady, knows the city, understands the game" or anything that suggests an old head of any kind and we would assume Keane.

I also don't buy in to the prolonged way he tries to buy time for hiring a new manager, it doesn't take this long to do this process. Not at all.
But it would if the new manager wouldn't be available to take over right now and we need to play the game of keeping quiet.
    Again, that's maresca not Keane.

And finally, his final points, he's sort of trying to get us ready for a transition and manage expectations for next season.
If you hired Keane, you expect (wrongly) success straight away. He's not one for building something.
Maresca is though, he needs the time to implement his ideas as Desmond alludes to, which also alludes to the (hopeful) longer term restructuring we are all hoping for.

Keeping in mind the harkin deal being supposedly 90% done, then it would make even more sense to be Maresca and less sense to be Keane.

Of the 5 names mentioned, maresca fits as best I can twist this interview.
And I'm not aware of any other managers being touted for the gig.
I'm assuming by * we are at least beyond the point of Jack Ross or John Kennedy. Surely

The very first two questions has basically put the fear that we will end up * it all up again like we did after WGS and hand them titles.

Lawwell should have absolutely no * part in our future plans after giving the parasite the job in the showers.

Also the first part with all that * about research that’s a lie cause you never done all that when you appointed Lennon ya ducking lying *.

Same old spin doctor politician answers.

Was there any mention of a DOF? I have a sinking feeling it will be same old, but maybe with a token DOF thrown in but not actually doing anything.

Oh well, everyone will buy season tickets anyway so who cares?
