Agree with most of the views here regarding a worthy risk in getting a modern manager in and building for the future.

Albeit we likely wouldn’t win the league next season however Gerrard and co will be offski within the next year I think so this is the perfect time to get the rebuild going. Build the foundations now, get back the confidence and hunger next season then dominate the league for the next 5+ years. They’re a bubble waiting to burst, last night showed that. All it takes is a bit of a challenge and pressure which they’re lucky they’ve missed all season.

Lay a marker to these * on Sunday Celtic - regardless of the result I want to see every Celtic player throwing themselves at everyone and every ball, dominating the play and more importantly lots of dirty * hun bodies leaving the pitch covered in their own blood.

Wanna win the league every year, but we need to stop this short term planning and papering over cracks, sevco form from this season is unsustainable so a moderate improvement of this season and we are well in the mix while someone builds something longer term

I don’t think challenging for the title next year and building something for the long term need to be treated as one or the other.

With the right manager and right signings we can easily compete with them. This seasons collapse from us cannot be ignored likewise their form but I think with the right investment in a proper set up, a good balance between first team players and those with the potential to really kick on then we will be well
    placed.

I do think CL given the tight timescales and size of the rebuild needed may be an ask too far but competing for domestic honours and doing alright in the Europa shouldn’t be out of the question whilst putting in place the building blocks for the future in terms of structure, pathway from academy to first team and a strong scouting network for all levels.

Agree cl money is their so we can keep hold of our talent or very least demand the most as it means we are not in a position where we need to sell

Anybody else getting a teeny bit nervous at the lack of actual movement?

The only plausible link I've read is from the German journo claiming Marsch knocked back an approach. And even that isn't without question marks.

I know we have a good reputation for doing our business discreetly, but during my many years as a supporter theres always been a front runner who was appointed to nobody's surprise (with the obvious exception of Dr Jo).

I literally have zero clue, zero hunch, zero predictions about who is going to be our manager next season.

if a director of football is the route we are going and it looks as though it is , then he will be appointed before a manager is

Extremely concerned, even though Lawwell is going by the looks of it nothing has changed with the way we conducted business regarding putting things in place for the following season.

We will try and rush things thought out top targets for the managers job will say no and then the board will give it some birthday card pish and appoint Kennedy.

    I'm no concerned..

I think it'll be Maresca and Harkins. If it isn't, i think it's someone in a job just now and why we're having to wait..

Was concerned before but i think it's pretty obvious we're doing something in the background. New CEO incoming. Been talk of a DOF for a good while and a lot of candidate's at a good level..

Marsch pretty much told us yesterday that we'd contacted him about the job. That tells me it won't be Kennedy or a proper * name here like Ross..

Kennedy won't be appointed.. I have little to no faith in our board but to appoint Kennedy after last season would be financial suicide..They are not that stupid

I think it has to be Enzo yet the way this board has behaved the last few years has me doubting the next move for the club

If we've went and asked Marsch the question its a good thing on one hand. On the other hand, if we've just went and asked him after he answered some questions politely about us, then its worrying that we're nowhere near a target yet.

The fact that he had a successful playing career at a high level somewhat allays my fears about that. He has also coached at two top clubs (Sevilla and Manchester City), and learnt his trade from two top managers (Pellegrini and Guardiola). He should command the respect of his players from day one.

I have no concerns about his coaching ability.

If it’s maresca, can’t wait to see him like this in the standing section conducting a rendition of boys of the old brigade.
