More I read about Maresca and what he's done for the U23's the more I want him to be our choice, risky but very exciting appointment imo, albeit Farkin is definitely a bit disappointing after getting linked to the Juve guy.

 

Thinking more of Andy Walker, Davie Provan and all the Gerrard * lickers on Clyde 1

 

Surely noting to stop it being the Juve guy and still getting Enzo Maresca given the Italian link and it being a forward thinking young coach could be the perfect combination.

Donati is coming back as a coach, he's masterminded the whole thing

I know its just a wind up but thats the sort of setup you can imagine clubs like Ajax and Porto having

On top of all that, we need 5 new coaches at least, a team of scouts, at least 3 physios etc etc...

I've got a total semi on for Enzo.

60 goals in 18 games at ANY level, is pure filth.

I don't rate Guardiola as highly as others (has he ever NOT coached the richest side in a league) but given the astronomical levels of resources he has and is working with, it bodes very well indeed that Maresca impressed Guardiola so much after a visit to study their training, and is now ripping the u23 to absolute shreds.

He's ticking all the boxes for me.

Young, hungry, patient, a student of the game, a natural tactician, and a distinct attacking style.

The only downside, is that if he's given the job and is as competent as we HOPE he could be, it won't be long before the EPL manager merry-go-round comes back to our door sniffing about. Let's just hope this time Enzo will finish the season out, and more importantly this "overhaul" makes any transitions smoother than a silk, Barry White love pillow.

Agree with Marcesa, he ticks boxes and looks the part. It is his lack of experience that will concern me and others - BUT, if he is supported by a good DoF and the footballing structure is there for him to be a part of, then he will do fine and I will be excited by it.
We need to stop acting like a modern club, but employing 1980s level of management, and actually get on board with modern coaching, football, the whole lot.

Rather the spent an extra £5million a year on a football structure than another 2 "gems" and raw talents that end up no where.

Proper investment in the entire setup will allow proper development and game time to the wealth of young talent we have seen at this club, and too recently seen walk away or be frozen out because the manager wants to play his pals.

 

Why don’t we offer HL the DOF role he has experience of the club has also played for two other top European clubs has managed to a degree and has a positive attitude with a head coach like Howe and an assistant in Marcesa that could be the dream team there
