Personally, I get the absolute TERRORS every time I see Keane start to trend. Sure, he was a good player, but he's a * and an extremely risky appointment. He is however unlikely to take * from our board and stand by if they don't invest, so I'm hoping it's all smoke and mirrors.

Definitely a fan of the entire background setup concept. That kind of vision and sports science is seriously how we'll make inroads on a European front, and get back to getting great developing players in. Along with a good European style coach, and we'd become a serious weapon over a couple of seasons...

 

If the City rumours are true I would expect quite a few 19 to 23 year old players to follow, some costing more than others. While that shouldn't be our whole set up, it would at least start us with players who want to play under that coaching set up and give us something to build from.

 

Hopefully those rumours are true! Would b exactly wat we need

 

Keane, Dour faced Kennedy and laptop boy or a whole new set up that is experienced in a modern day set up coming from City..

Roberts, Denayer, Boyata, Frimpong, Ncham. Arzani, mostly good signings. I suppose it makes perfect sense to have a partnership with a super club in the English league 4 hours down the road. 100% behind moulding the Man City set up. It'll encourage the rest of the Premier league to sent their talent up the road to slay the hun vermin. Maybe one day they'll win a European Cup just like Celtic!

I was contemplating how this could work just a couple weeks back, to be under the "city" brand, officially we never could be if we have aspirations of Europe.
So it would be an affiliate/unofficial thing at best. Most certainly we should NEVER be branded as one such as NY and Melborune.

But if it brings us in line with modern clubs and gets us a more integrated link with City, * it sure.

Look at the Arzani deal for one thing - their would certainly be more of that thing going on, or Foden 3 years ago being loaned out.

We would just need to be very very careful not to become a dumping ground for them though. Just look at the 5 Newcastle lads that got dumped at the huns when Ashley saw an opportunity.

But if it means we step in to the modern footballing world, sharing resources and links with City, bring it on.

If nothing else, it will be seen as a stepping stone for coaches and players alike, to utilise the link in a positive manner.

 

I'd rather the Juve guy in as DOF and a more proven manager but the more I hear about Maresca, the more it excites me..

A whole revamp with Harkins in and loads of City backroom staff, plus Maresca....would mean a seamless transition instead of plucking name's from here there and everywhere. City are a high level club in term's of their staff..

Think Maresca would have us playing exciting football going by what's been said about him and a bit of a coup..

People will grumble because of the obvious link's and I get that but this could work out well..

If this news is right then you'd imagine we were getting a lot done already in term's of next season but no announcing yet as Maresca is still finishing the season with their 23's?

 

I can see us getting players on loan for 1 or 2 seasons and them then sending them to Galatasary as its a 'stronger league'. That would work against us.

We should interview Tognozzi as well he might be Better than Fergal Harkin, the Juventus connection. Don't know anything about this Fergal Harkin or Tognozzi who would be better.

I think if dermot Desmond and had to pick between the two I think * be saying, Roy Keane. Roy the bhoy. Keano!

For me, it only excites me IF we do it right and as we all seem to hope is the case.
The DoF, the full scale coaching, scouting, fitness, the lot.

Think most of us said way back earlier in the season, ANY half sensible and forward thinking manager with an actual modern footballing structure around him could walk this league.
If we go Maresca, we NEED to do this properly.

 

A lot of Yorkshire bhoys are saying the Wilder rumours are pretty strong down there.
