Potential Manager Suggestions?

I wouldn’t have the new man anywhere near it just now. We know how reactionary everyone up here is.

It’ll take a miracle to have any impact now with how late it is in the season and nothing to play for. One bad result and we’ll have a summer full of * demanding he doesn’t even get a chance next year.

Even if someone comes in and hits the ground running, the first sign of a dip next season we’ll be getting telt that he’s a Lawwell appointment etc. And McKay should get his own man.

Really don’t see what there is to gain by getting someone in just now other than to appease fans who’re in panic mode.

McKay as well. Let everything get agreed in the background but don’t do anything officially until the seasons done.

Get this season over and done with and move on with a fresh start.

 

If we are going with a DOF, he should be in just now & the manager can be brought in once the season ends. If we aren't going for a DOF the manager needs to be in just now. What we gain from having them in now depending on what scenario is that we are ready for a run at the CL & ready for the league start.

The club have some build to get right with management changing & so many players coming & going. I would hope we don't leave it until the season finishes to get either in depending on scenario. If we do, we are going to be * for next season IMO unless they are miracle workers.

 

Totally understand what you mean. I think any manager/coach would want to have time to assess what he has as quick as possible. Ideally in competitive fixtures. Get him in now. He won't be judged on the remaining games this season. We have to be planning long term, and if that means having a *(more than it has been) end to the season then so be it.

 

I'm hoping the board have their men and they are waiting in the wings and looking at our games on TV and maybe these guys can't come in at present maybe with other clubs .
I'm still surprised Hammond is still in the building and no way should he be part of the rebuild and the board should give the fans a statement about what's happening and maybe say the new management team will be appointed in the next month or so .

Can't worry about appeasing the fan's one minute and then worrying about how he'd be judged in a few dead rubbers as he settles in..

The rebuild is big. Getting someone in to assess the squad and his surroundings. New signings. His ethos over to who will be here next season etc etc..

There's plenty of benefits of having a new guy announced. Would settle everyone down, we'd all know what the plans were. The negativity would pass massively..

I'm no overly against just announcing a boss and him coming in at the end of the season also, but I really don't want us leaving it til after the season is done..

As long as everyone knows what's happening and work is being put in up close/or from a distance in the coming week's...no in May or something..

The rebuild being so big is the exact reason a manager shouldn’t be flung in.

The season is done, the players have chucked it. The first team is rotten just now, keep our new man away from it until preseason where he and his own staff can put there own stamp on things with the backing of a DOF, new CEO and new back room team.

The place is poison just now and Lawwell Kennedy and co. Aren’t going anywhere.

 

Getting him in now would be just to help appease fans who are in panic mode in the short term. Long term though it could end up being a disaster.

Trying to change a whole playing style and bomb out big name players who’ve already chucked it will make the place toxic for the new man. It’s simply not worth flinging him in.

Then add in probably a couple of defeats and poundings from the Huns then some fans will never get over it and we’ll have a full summer of fans waiting for him to fail.

When does a manager at a big club, as toxic as we are just now, ever go in for a few games to assess *? There’s nothing he won’t already know.

Rodgers knew who needed punted as soon as he came in. Deila knew it as well but didn’t have the power.

The DOF and Manager will probably already have a list of players they want gone just from assessing the squad from the outside and speaking to contacts in the game.

And even outside of all that, I don’t think a manager worth their salt comes in just now. Genuinely can’t remember a manager coming into a situation like this from the outside and being a success at a big club.

 

They’ll both be working with McKay to get things moving in the background before they’re officially here.

Anyone thinking we’re just going to have a DOF and Manager turn up in June/July without extensively researching and analysing everything are just panicking.

Wouldn’t be surprised if the 3 of them are already working things out just now and were keeping it quiet.

 

Fair point's I suppose but it's such a big rebuild that the summer isn't a lot of time to work with..

 

I'm hoping that we've got them in place now, although I highly doubt it..

 

I saw David Moyes suggested to be interested elsewhere but thought what a load of nonsense sure he is flying at West Ham. So one of 2 things could be at play. His contract is up in the summer so he wants West Ham to extend it and we are a useful prop. Or West Ham want someone more exotic to take over and Moyes knows it is likely(not certain though) that he will be looking a job in the summer.

 

He will be using us because of his contract situation

 

Think we've definitely got the DOF done and it's almost certainly Harkin, who will no doubt already be in discussions with McKay and Desmond.

Manager is a different story, I dont think we have one decided yet, albeit I think itll be between Lampard, Howe, Wilder and Maresca.

We should really be looking at guys like the Slavia Prague manager as well, although I doubt we are.
