    hi lads,
you have just signed a quality young cb called matty hughes. he is from rochdale. i used to play with him in the centre of excellence from 12 to 15. when i left he got advanced rapidly into the youth team. and was playing constantly in the youth team and reserves while he was still at school last season. he is a quality player all the best to him up north. hope he is great for you!
and you are all raving about samaras and i am a season ticket holder at city. he is the worst striker i have seen pull on a city shirt. but he may get good. he is a confidence player and may be great for you never no.

I'm a City season ticket holder too but also a keen fan of the Hoops.

To be fair, I've seen a lot worse players than Girl George but he just lacks heart at times. In the first few months at City, I thought we had got ourselves a quality player. He thrives on confidence, and that's what makes him tick.

As a fan of both clubs, when I said I wanted to see the back of him though, I didn't mean for one club to dump him on the other! :)

Not knocking what you say but you have never really been blessed with a top class forward in recent yrs that everyone knows have you ?? :97: ......My own opinion is that Sammy will be a good addition for us and will certainly keep JVOH on his toes as it did at the end of last season

i actually cant believe you want him to sign for you! he is poor he spends longer on the floor than on his feet. and for his size he wins nothing. how he do for you on loan last season? because watched him a lot at city and didnt look like their was much there.

Sorry but this is BS, Samaras was continually played out of position as a LW or subbed on for the last ten minutes in his second season at City (even when he did get a bit of confidence back and had scored a few goals he was then dropped for the next few games). This was playing with a team where he himself was leading assists creator and the team was set up in a highly defensive system, even Drogba would have struggled to score goals in this * setup. This is also highlighted by the fact that all the 'great' strikers that Erickson brought in all failed to score as many goals as Samaras in the season he was slated by the fans and press. Strikers just cannot thrive at City because the team doesn't create many chances. Whether this will change under Hughes remains to be seen.

thats rubbish, he had as much chance to score goals. i cant fault his effort but skill and attributs just arent there. how many times did you watch him for city? i go home and away for city and watched him whenever he played. he was poor. fair enough erickson's tactics didnt match samaras. but sven is a great judge of a player and knew he werent good enough. otherwise he wouldnt of sent him out on loan. in his first season at city pearce practically played a formation which 'should' of suited him and he did poor with us only scoring 10 goals at home. none since new years day. and him as pretty much our main striker

The Spl is on the up and every team is improving each year. The new setanta deal proves this, the quality of football shown in the spl has rapidly improved in recent years and will continue to do so......... because we are in an " inferior league" doesnt mean samaras will look good, he will also be useful in europe........and wait when was the last time man city was in the champions league ....OH you cant ?

    Championship standard?

I cant see any team in the Champinship holding Bayern Munich and thumping Copenhagen like Aberdeen did (Scotlands 4th best team) !!

Man Utd lost against Copenhagen not too long ago.

kyle lafferty was average at best in the championship. and he will go to the spl and be one the best strikers in the league. thats how poor the league is. i still think celtic should move to the prem just to challenge themselves.

cmon mate - have a wee think about what your just typed.

Lafferty is * and wont do well here. Torre Andre Flo was * here. Alot of top european players come to the SPL and dont so well because of 1 reason - they underestimate the SPL.

Its nowhere near as bad as the English make it out to be.

here mate there are many many many better strikers in the league than kyle lafferty

Owen Coyle was desprate for a celtic reject ( riordan ) and he would be best player in the championship.... think about it

if city were in the spl we would murder celtic every time we played them. you say the league is on the up but if celtic came into the premiership they would be in the bottom half. and the only reason they hold big teams in the champions league is because underdogs do well in whatever cup competition.
and beating utd is no great feet we did it twice.
