    :celt_2:am born and raised in america, but i support ireland first, then usa, as much i love celtic, nothing can get me going like amhran na bhfiann during a big match. I cannot ever root for scotland because i hate the huns.

    sorry haha forgot to say i follow ireland i am scottish but hate the team as they are all orange * apart from mcmanus etc etc

    not irish by birth but irish by choice :celt_2:

    my family originates from ireland and italy but prefer ROI :icon_mrgreen:

    and also when ireland play its a pretty big thing for me and my family if its a big game we all sit down to watch them ..... when scotland played italy i proudly wore my italian top to * all the huns off :icon_mrgreen: i mean barry ferguson scoring ... was any one happy with that ???....and if scotland play no one in my family gives a *

    mate, that is one of the most sectarian attitudes to national team I have ever heard.:38: The fans and the players are all Scots regardless of religion and the team they play for. Thats what an international team is all about.

    keltoi maybe you should look up the true definition of sectarian.

    not liking a player because he plays for a rival club is not sectarian. did he say anything about not liking barry because he is a protestant? nope..

    I was happy because I'm a Scotland fan and wanted to see Scotland the team of my birth at Euro 2008. I'm sure WGS, McManus, Caldwell, Hartley, Brown were all happy too.

    I think introducing sectional loyaltys into something thats meant to be above that is covered by sectarianism. Its a free world I suppose but I think sitting thinking in club or hun/tim terms about the national team is poor.

    I was ecstatic when Fergyhun scored, why because our National team were close to qualification. I'll admit i would rather it was one of our players, but overall i will cheer anyone when they're playing for Scotland.

    i was happy with him scoring, he wasn't playing for rangers was he.

    as much as i hate the scottish national team i wanted them to qualify simply because england were crashing out.
