Seen a lot of seabirds and ducks up the canal the last few times been up, saw massive big cormorant today. Was nice up there today, looking forward to the spring though. Over the coldness.

I know mate, the place looks nice enough with the snow etc but I really can't stand this time of year, would happily hibernate from Oct to April.

Totally agree , in a few weeks there will be new buds on the trees , daffys and crocuses peeking through the ground , spring is a brilliant and beautiful time full of new life .

Fantastic pictures Sioux :50:, well caught.

I went for a good long walk at the weekend and the Crocuses are starting to open, although they might go back in when they see the weather forecast for this week.

A Nuthatch is one of the birds that I was really excited about when I first saw one. Super cool birds. A few years ago, we went to a bird fair in Lothian. It was ok but it was great watching birds being ringed. When an announcement came over the tannoy that a Nuthatch had been caught in the net, everyone rushed to the ringing area to watch. Great to see, and moments later a massive Golden Eagle flew over the area. What a great 15 minutes.

A few from this mornings walk along the Garavogue, it was nice and dry but bitterly cold in the easterly wind.

This wee Goldfinch was fast asleep on a branch beside the feeders, he never stirred even with the mayhem of Crows and Pigeons feeding all around him.

Thanks Sioux, glad you like them :50:, it's kinda hard at the minute to get a good mix of species as we're only allowed to travel 5km for essentials and i don't think photographing wild birds would be seen as essential, so i'm kinda stuck between the Docks and Doorly park at the minute.
