The champions route to qualification is 100 times easier than it was before, just we ballsed it up and went out to teams like Ferenvaros rather than Arsenal

You can blame Scottish football (us included) for low coefficient leading to no automatic qualification spaces

The new guy will want to make his statement of intent with a qaulity manager signing, not a lawell cheapo.

Scottish Rugby is thriving from a business standpoint, probably in the best place it’s ever been.

I’d imagine we get a DoF too.

Never saw this coming. Thought we would trudge on regardless. But a welcome change. Very welcome indeed. Hopefully further changes announced imminently.

Personally I think it's a fantastic thing that his experience doesn't come from football, at least we might now see football decisions being deferred to people who know about the game.

No more Bayo and Shved type signings. No more coaches forced upon incoming managers. No more requests for Indoor training pitches refused while we spend £££ on architects drawing up plans for a hotel.

Bring in a DOF, give them an annual budget and allow them to spend it on how they see fit.

    Good riddance.

A guy who was handed the chance to put Celtic light years ahead of any other club in Scotland and to establish us as a proper Champions League club.

Instead, he’s oversaw the lowering of expectations and downsizing throughout the club, except of course in his pay packet.

A guy who seems to have conned people into thinking he’s done a good job because Celtic haven’t been liquidated and because they’ve won trophies against Aberdeen, Kilmarnock and a Newco Hun team.

The guy’s a disgrace and should’ve been chased out the door about 7 years ago.

Took his £3m from his self-appointed bonuses scheme at least he had a plan for something. Unfortunately for us, his aim to go out on a high. Was * by his lack of a plan in appointing a proper manager, not one who was good enough 7-8 years ago.

Don't know if I can stomach the number of stories bumming up the guy, which will be written over the next few days.

On paper he has a magnificent record as Celtic CEO. He even turned down a number of lucrative offers from Premier League Clubs - one of which was Liverpool or Arsenal I believe.

But ultimately for a businessman he got too involved in the transfer and football affairs for my liking. Losing out on many talents because of his biscuit tin approach.

In the last few years in particular his failure to act quickly and to forward plan has cost us CL qualification, a world class coach and now 10 in a row.

17 years for anyone in a Leadership role is too much. Things become stagnant. I’m very much looking forward to a new dawn.
