Your right it’s all about opinion, most Celtic fans are saying he was a legend but, as I said earlier I’ve never thought of the guy as a Celtic legend but I’m not going to chin every person who thinks that he is

Agreed. I was (long winded) pointing out personal abuse of a 20 year service player/manager is no different to a 3 month loanee.
Wasn't highlighting any wrong doing on your behalf.

Sadly, it will continue until he's gone.

I too find the personal abuse honking. I think we all want him out at this point, but id wager that 99% of us in his position would continue and try and fix the mess you made. I'm not gonna blame him for not walking. I wouldn't. I blame Lawwell, Desmond and the rest of the board for their incompetence in continuing to stay aboard what is a sinking ship of a regime.

Now its at the point where they should also go under with it and we should start a fresh from the top down. Lenny is annoying me at the moment and I wish he was sacked. But I'm not gonna kid myself that id not try and hang on to what will be the biggest job id ever have.

    No we weren't.

It was widely reported at the time that he took a substantial pay cut and waived signing on fees to make the move happen.

Not really the point. He had a 20 year career with us and will have been paid handsomely for it.

If he hadn't come to us he still would have made a lot of money regardless. The point is he made sacrifices to come to us as a player because he WANTED to.

I try to stay out of the abuse but I can see where it comes from in all honesty, and it isn’t just a poor performance on the pitch.

The fans have been locked out of the stadium for not far off a year now, unable to support, or bent their frustrations to anyone. When they try to do so outside, the stadium area is quickly off limits. Add to that, the year itself has been massively taxing on so many people - much moreso than the average highly paid footballer I would bet l. The football provides a degree of escapism. For Celtic fans, it’s basically over.

Aside from all that, there’s absolutely no doubt in my mind he’s still here simply for the money. That’s his prerogative, but you can’t expect it to not damage his standing amongst the support.

The question I would ask those who are vehemently against any sort of abuse being aimed his way would be this; does it have a limit? Could he in theory be here indefinitely, taking away outstanding money and damaging the club, and avoid abuse indefinitely? If not, and you would eventually find yourself giving him abuse, is it really that shocking that others are?

I reckon we’ve pretty much all got a breaking point where we would tell him to * off and never come back.

How is it not the point? You’re saying he made a sacrifice purely because he wanted to come here. I’m saying he might’ve calculated he would take a short term reduction to earn more in the long run, which hardly makes it a noble sacrifice.

PS How did the Germans get into this ?

Not that theres anything wrong with Germans, we could do worse than source a few prospects from the Kraut League

He can't be surely still just be here for the money, he's been a pro for 20 years, manager for a few after that. He doesn't look right the kind of guy that blows all his dosh on Ferraris and the like so he must be financially sound for the rest of his life. I still think there's some reason behind it all we don't know, all I can think of he is being manipulated by Desmond and Lawell as their puppet.

Celtic must begin preparing for next season and I doubt that any of us believe, NL will be in charge for that. Unlike lots of the speculators here, I don't know who will replace him but he has to go. Our squad and management team will look substantially different when season 21/22 kicks off, players will come and go but we must have a plan in place, starting now.
I have nothing but admiration for NL and I appreciate all that he has contributed to our club. However, like many great club servants in the past, his time is now at an end.
