The board should have got rid of Lennon, but equally, after the 4-1 home defeat to Sparta Prague, he should have stood down from his position. It was clear that night he had lost the dressing room.

He hasn't been up to the task and shouldn't have been given the job. I was one of the first to be calling for his head when we went out of the Champions League.

The season was salvageable even a month ago, but the board have been wrong on this point all along. It was their job to do the right thing and get rid of him. I'm pretty sure that Lenny knows he can't carry on.

Lenny has to go and nobody disputes that. It is the personal abuse I find distasteful.

He then played the very same starting X1 a few days later at home to Motherwell. That was done purely to try and prove a point that we could win without a striker. His stubbornness knows no bounds.

Mate ye reap what ye sow.

Lenny brought this on himself, not in his failure but in the way he has managed his failure.

Mind the time he complained about a fully fit Christie playing 3 full games in a row for Scotland but then played a 35 year old Brown 3 full games in a row.

Personal abuse. It's all about who you like and don't. You like someone, you will protect and give a far easier ride to. You don't, you rip in to them. So it will never be sorted as football can polarise anyone, even between a teams own. Unless you heavily moderate it.

So What stems personal abuse??? Calling Duffy a useless * any worse than calling Lennon a useless *. Is it cause of prior history he gets an easier ride. He walked out the first time, where others are forced to leave. Duffy for example, may be a donkey but give 100%, which is certainly more than Lennon appears to give. If its OK to call one a *, it's fair game all round. Duffy selected at random by the way.

Calling him a ginger * or fat *, worse than Sammy being a lanky * or useless Greek donkey. I agree it's incorrect, but often ignored based on who the subject is. Lennon probably had an easier ride of the personal abuse than other members of the playing staff past and present. Will never condone the racism he or anyone suffers.

The man that was paraded across Ibrox, is far different than man in the dug out currently. He was lauded at the time and throughout his playing career here, and the good times as manager. Fiancially rewarded very hamsomely as well. But he has overseen the nosedive of epic failure in our most historical season ever and as much as he's rode the wave of success and praise, he must accept the rough and the highly frustrated and obvious fury from the fans during a pandemic. To us mere mortals, principle will over come money regarding the club. We put the club and its fans first. Lennon isn't doing that.

I hope for his sake also, this saga ends ASAP, and maybe in a few years he will be able to return and relax and enjoy as a fan of the club we all love.

I agree with pretty much everything you've said.

I want him gone as much as the next person but, the personal abuse is ridiculous...pretty vile in my opinion.

I think it's rather sad that it has come to this.

Right but that doesn’t explain the only reason is him being Irish?

December we won 5 in a row as well.

Lille, Killie, County, Hamilton, Dundee United.

He certainly can’t hold his head up high after this. His behaviour has been disgraceful, especially as a supposed Celtic man.

His fans love to forget the minute he thought he was better than this club he * off, despite us giving him his start in management and even letting him lose a title to the Huns and go 15 points behind to McCoist.

He’s just using his association to Celtic to get an extremely well paid job doing what he loves, that he wouldn’t get anywhere else. He cares * all about the fans and the club. The best evidence for that is this season.

He’s also a * for taking the team on holiday to Dubai during a pandemic. Call it personal insults if you want, that is cuntish behaviour no matter who done it.

I’m somewhere in between, cannae be bothered with all popcorn teeth, wee ginger alkie *, that is Hun behaviour but certainly can’t be arsed with all the “ Neil Francis Lennon, a guy who absolutely adores our club, in Lenny we believe * either, guy’s made a major * off it and his stubbornness and arrogance with team decisions, Dubai interviews saying “ we looked great “, when we were absolutely * has just annoyed everyone, was actually a breath of fresh air just hearing McGregor say “ it’s just not good enough “and gI’ve an honest assessment as to how * we were

Always thought Lennon was a right good signing from Martin O’Neill, a hard working midfield spoiler who did the ugly side of the game well, good reader of a game, won a good few trophies in good Celtic team and a good captain aswell, but personally guys like, billly McNeill, Tommy gemmell, Lennox, Danny mcgrain, Roy Aitken, mcstay, larrson even lubo in the short time he was here are Celtic legends to me, a don’t put Lennon in that bracket
Out of the 3 midfielders that played in that team petrov lambert and him, he was the 3rd best midfielder

Totally agree. He is the wrong man for the job at this point in time but he is Celtic through and through. I don't agree with the insults being thrown at him, some I would suggest are the sort said by huns, but if that's how people want to vent then so be it. He may be unsuitable for the job but I do believe he is trying and giving his best. Unfortunately football has moved on and he hasn't kept up.

    Did he *.

The average salary in the EPL in 2000 was something stupid like £8-9k a week. He played in a no mark Leicester side that dicked around mid table and he wasn't exactly dazzling the EPL to get chased by the big boys. Most our signings back then was for PLayers unable to cut it at the top end and to offer them a decent wage - sometimes more than they was on - and dangled trophies and limelight in front of them. It was known quite well that was what MON did to entice some of them to come.
Didn't take long for MON to establish a quality side of high earners, something we found out in 2003 and 2004 when we realised how out our depth we was and couldn't continue it.

Lennon will have went from 10-15k to 20-25k at Celtic, I would be absolutely shocked if he took any sort of pay cut, more likely got a rise, let alone a "huge pay cut" to come to us.

That line of argument is beyond stupid. Yes the guy with 20 years service that included getting us to a UEFA final gets an easier ride than the loan player who has been a complete disaster almost every time he has put on a shirt.

He must know the feeling of the support, he can't continue to be so stubborn especially as it looks like the board won't make the change. By hanging on he's making the fans say stuff through frustration that I don't believe they really mean.

I agree with that. I have never rated Lennon as a manager - didn't want him back and am frankly furious at the way he has made us a laughing stock this season.

However, I have been taken aback by some of the comments on here - some of it is just nasty personal abuse and there is no need for it.

I'll be glad to see the back of Lennon and I do think this season has definitely tainted his "legacy" at the club.

However, onwards and upwards, I wish him the best wherever he goes.

Anyone can have a pop at anyone they want. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. AllnI have stated is my distaste for personal abuse aimed at someone who is a club legend.

I see no issue with having a go at his choices, decisions, formations and tactics. I've condemned his managerial career from the moment he was given the job, but I've never for a minute been nasty about the individual. There is no need for it. I don't don't with other players and I particularly don't don't with club legends.

The nasty stuff I've read online is nothing short of what I would expect on hun media. That is my point.

    You’ve just proved his point.

If you detest personal abuse so much you should call it out regardless of who it’s aimed at.

Not to mention the fella in question has been handsomely compensated for his 20 years. It’s hardly charity work he’s been doing.

I agree with Che the personal abuse is very unsavory and quite frankly pathetic from supposedly grown men. I want Lennon gone but the personal stuff is for the Huns not us. Get a grip.
