Yea, don't understand the delay if he's the choice.

I do reckon some managers are reluctant to come midseason and be tarnished early doors with someone else's rubbish.

Maybe but it's imperative the rebuild starts now..

Gives someone a chance to get the feet in the door under no real pressure as the season is gone. A few month's to assess the squad and get idea's across. Plan signings, pre contracts etc. Build some momentum and a style of play for next season, the qualifiers..

You could be right. Perhaps they’re waiting until the league is mathematically over before a new manager comes in.

Still can’t shake this horrible feeling that Lennon will be here next year. The board trying to use the pandemic as an excuse for why this season has been such a disaster.

That’s correct. You cannot just appoint a Board member out the blue.

He would require approval from the other board members and companies house would need to be notified.

    It’s all bullshit.

Howe would be my pick just now. His Burnley stint was a number of years ago now so hopefully shouldn’t have same issues- think it was because he had a young family.

His problems at Bournemouth came after they fell into the EPL trap of spending big money on bang average players- Ibe, Solanke etc. Think he could do well under our tighter transfer “policy”.

Even then there would of had to of been a Board meeting to approve? Also, it would of most likely been announced at the AGM given it was only a few weeks ago.

I don’t doubt Ross Desmond will be joining the club in some capacity as I have also been told this but it won’t be this week. It will be in the summer.

Agreed. Leaving it all to the summer is a terrible strategy.

We would likely get knocked out of CL due to being underprepared and the new manager is immediately on the back foot. Also, it inhibits our ability to attract quality players if we get knocked out of the CL. Therefore handing the Huns an immediate advantage when it comes to player recruitment because they will qualify - I’ve no doubt about that.

Taking emotion out of it and being completely objective about the situation, Rodgers going to Leicester early was absolutely the right thing for them. He assessed the squad, worked with them on his system etc. and they started the following season really well.

    Nope, all quiet.

If there is news I would imagine it would be announced tomorrow when he is allowed back to training.

I am also sceptical. However, DD is a billionaire businessman - I doubt he is planning to tell Lawwell to just not turn up tomorrow.

Ross Desmond does not have to join the board immediately. There would clearly be some sort of handover period - it's in Lawwell's interests to have a smooth transition - he wouldn't be leaving empty handed.

It's quite possible that the only one to leave immediately would be Lennon - unless they have already been talking to the new manager (Howe) and he has a backroom team lined up.

You could see Kennedy/Strachan around for 6 - 8 weeks while Howe? sorts thing out.

If Lennon goes this week, Strachan/Kennedy/Hammond over the next 6 - 8 weeks and Lawwell at the end of the season, I'd be happy.

At this point it seems to be based on a random message on Twitter and odds shortening on Howe. Having worked in one of the biggest international bookies for a few years - that proves nothing, it is not difficult to move a relatively small betting market.

I remain sceptical but I do think that it indicates that Celtic are clearly intent on replacing Lennon at some point and I'll settle for that at the moment.

Maybe but he can’t join the Board of Directors without approval. If he’s coming in just now then he will have a completely different job title.

Potential appointment of Ross Desmond also doesn’t fill me with confidence. What’s his background? Does he have the skills and experience for the role.

We should be looking for the best candidate available not appointing someone based on family loyalty.

I would be happy with a cardboard cutout of Eddie Howe in the dugout on Wednesday.

Surely there could be some period of shadowing lawell etc rather than just rocking up in June with zero knowledge/experience and running a football club.

I'd imagine if the board had their way Lennon would be in the dug out till the summer. Only reason can see them acting now is if Howe or someone else is on a plate and they risk losing that person by waiting. Put pressure on Lennon also to resign rather than be sacked.
