He’ll know his standing but he’ll be thinking about himself. He’ll also have an attitude that he’s ‘given’ so much to the club that he can do whatever the * he wants and we should be grateful.

Of course that’s not true and we’ve actually given him far far more than he’s given us, but these guys have an ego that thinks the opposite.

I also think he’s cunning enough to know he has a core of ‘Lennon first’ supporters that are out here working for him. He’ll be depending on them while he stays quiet, not unlike Trump in the US at the moment.

I'm not going to go overboard with name calling and all that.
For me he lost his legend status, he should have walked away, it's clear he's here for one last big pay day.

He's taking the money before the club, that will be his legacy.

As for his health problems, those nearest and dearest should have told him to walk away, if he walked away back in September when it was clear he wasn't up to the job he could have walked away with no regrets and head held high.
His need to be right and knowing he won't get a job anywhere near this clubs level again stopped him.
He has done himself no favours and neither have those closest to him.

Thing is, if they can’t get anyone (because they’re incompetent) they can use the pandemic as cover and say they can’t get anyone due to that, but they should at least be announcing Lennon’s contract won’t be renewed.

If it was March and this happened he would probably announce he’s ‘resigning’ at the end of the season (i.e. his contract isn’t being renewed) or some stupid * like that.

He can’t even get far enough for that to be a legit thing to do. It’s * January - that’s how much he’s * us up.

He'll be remembered for losing the 10 yes, but he will also be remembered for everything else too.

Anyone with any sense will realise that the Covid excuse would be BS, given other clubs in the country have replaced their managers despite operating on a fraction of what we do; including today's opposition and the team that knocked us out the League Cup at Parkhead.

All we ever hear from our club are 'Can't Dos':

    • We can't compete in Europe because we don't get as much money as the EPL clubs.

    • We can't win games against Scottish Clubs who have a wage budget equivalent to 1 of our players because the fans aren't in stadiums.

    • We can't gel the team together because of Covid and social distancing.

Isn't it a business mantra that successful individuals need to have a 'Can do' attitude?

Instead of whining about problems, find solutions to them. That's what we pay you very handsomely to do.

Instead of finding solutions, they'd rather use them to excuse away their own deficiencies but unfortunately for them, it's no longer fooling supporters.

I honestly believe the board have not sacked him yet because too early in the january window will mean a replacement will want backed in the market

I agree with you that some of the personal abuse (which I myself don't indulge in) has been disgraceful.

It's not just losing the 10 - it's how he's done it - we have been a joke this season. The club has gone backwards since he returned (he has had a lot of luck in the 3 cup finals he has been in since he returned).

I don't think anyone here would honestly want to see him suffer any health issues. I personally hope he goes into punditry rather than management - he's an average manager at best and will always end up in a pressure situation.

However, he has mainly himself and the board to blame. He deludes himself that he is a top class manager (which he has never been) and nothing is ever his fault. The board should have stepped in long before this.

I think people will always respect his record as a player and the sectarian BS he had to put up with when he was first appointed.

However, his real legacy (along with Lawwell) is presiding over the regression of the team from Feb 19 to the total shambles it is today - also by being a gutless "yes man" to Lawwell and letting him act as a Director of Football.

I think the club and a new manager would accept that the league is gone and he cannot be judged on that. They would probably prefer to hold fire - let them assess the squad (and likely leavers in the summer) so they can plan their summer activity well in advance.

Couldn’t agree more. There’s a weird trend among football fans to give someone a pass of their job is ‘hard’. It’s like the supporters that are saying we can’t get another manager in because they can’t think of one.

Hiring managers is literally Lawwell’s job and he’s pathetically bad at it so he should be sacked. It’s that simple.

This farce needs to stop now, it’s beyond embarrassing, beyond a joke and complete beyond belief he’s still in charge of the club.

This season been beyond * from the owner, the board, the manager/coaching team, to the players. This season above all seasons they all know the importance of what this meant, not just to the fans, but the club, the players would have been in footballs history books forever. But no they decided to hide and watch this shitshow unravel.

    Unacceptable and wholly disappointing.

Someone explain to me how there isn't at least some sort of performance clause in any celtic mangers contract that then mitigates costs of having to sack the manager?

This is totally overshadowing his previous achievements for me now, this could and should have been dealt with far more professionally by NL and the board to avoid this situation, didn't have to be like this. Said months ago that this could get very ugly and it's turned into an absolute horror show on account of his stubbornness and the board's failure to act when required. Totally scunnered, most people could see it happening miles down the road.

I can't believe the board can't bring themselves to pay whatever's left of his contract off when they were happy to bring in players like Ajeti and Klimala for maybe 7/8 million not so long ago.

I'm not criticising those players as a waste of money, I actually like them both, just don't understand the rationale, because they surely don't believe he's going to turn it around or that he's done a good job? Longer he's staying on the worse it's getting.

Did he give it his best shot though the evidence suggests he became very complacent .... stick with old routines taking a forced selection to get soro and turnbull in the team giving players needless days off at start of season (fitness is crucial) which evidently leads to our first dropped points at Kilmarnock the. No recognised striker against ferencvaros where he openly admits that they were better than he thought ...which tells me he did. No research on them throwing players under bus and taking no responsibility alienating youth players the list goes on and the evidence paints a picture that he hasn’t got the fire i. His belly anymore he got lazy behind that wheel and back in old habits that were affecting the job the first time around
