That’s a * joke! Absolutely horrendous from the club after spunking all that money on that trip! Players now self isolating being paid full wages.

Why can’t Pedro and co take a wage cut so these young lads get paid a full wage.

When will this * car crash end!

I see no reason why we should be financially damaged because the goverment shut down everything. Why do football clubs get tarnished and abused if they furlough some under 18 players? Yet when companies like apple with trillions in the bank do the same and nothing? Were not England. We don't get £200-300m each im tv money. I do think we're in for a massive shock come accounts time.

BTW if they shut football down again I wouldn't be against furloughing all playing staff aswel. They can live on a normal wage for a while.

Didn’t see Apple take some staff on a jolly to another country in the middle of one of the worse pandemics in human history stating the some staff needed it.

That wasted money could have gone to young under 18’s. That’s my main gripe when the club have spunked money away.

Also never seen any other side, in the big top earning leagues go on a nice wee jolly to Dubai either.

the last part I agree on give them minimum wage see how they get on.

So your just wanting to continually punish the club because they went to dubai. OK.

The people in charge, absolutely, they deserve all the get and chased out the * club.

They have become arrogant, self centred and don’t care about the fans or anything else.

There is no reason for them going away, at all. From putting up fences, the big * you statement, the shambles this season and then Pedro coming out with his half arsed Tory scripted apology.

Now putting the under 18’s on furlough when some of the privileged staff and first team squad could help pay for the younger lads.

Of all the things to get angry about, putting staff on furlough isn’t one of them, Dubai jolly or not.

It was a daft decision to go ahead with the Dubai trip but only in terms of the obvious risk of infection. People are guessing at the likely cost, as usual the Scots media are beating up the issue and exaggerating the cost.

But the $$$ cost is the least important part, the accommodation and flights had ( Im sure ) been booked well before hand and if cancelled at the last minute that money would have been forfeited. The salaries ( of all involved) would be paid anyway. An actual cost comparison of going / not going would probably show little difference.

The cost to the club in terms of PR damage is huge !

Furloughing young players is totally separate issue. The Club entitled to claim the financial support. We have always paid our taxes unlike some of our critics.

It’s not just that though is it. We both know that. The way the board are running the club and the shambles that’s currently unfolding.

You may not get angry or take issue with it but people are regarding this announcement today.

Furlough under 18s but spend 250k on a needless trip to Dubai resulting in 16 people sitting on their * for 2 weeks on full pay

Now remind me what it was Peter was saying about club morals, ethics and standards ?

We pay our tax an NI, we are entitled to use the furlough scheme.

I’m more concerned whether we are topping up their wages. That would be a disgrace if we aren’t.

I think it comes down to morals. Can we afford the staff to continue or do we drain public coffers that are stretched thin during these times and could be better used elsewhere?

We've just taken pretty much all senior staff on a lavishly luxurious holiday. That would suggest that we don't need public funding to support us whether we're entitled to it or not.

Edit: I have the same views on all corporations, not just Celtic. No way should a company that is millions or billions of dollars in profits every year be using such a scheme.

I completely agree we can use it. I’m not saying we can’t but the timing after what has happened is shocking.

All expenses paid trip for a first team squad that was 19 points behind the zombie and the scandals this season. That’s my main gripe if we can afford trips like that then we should be paying our way with the under 18’s.

I would love to know if the youths are only getting the 80%. It wouldn’t surprise me if that was the case.

This is my main gripes with this news today.

Lawwell and co have lost touch with these ethics, standards and values of the club.
