Got to put the pressure on the rats , so a 4-0 would be nice ! . I know it was a long time ago but we went to their shitehole in 88 needing a win to breathe life into the Centenary season ... that turned out fine !! .

I’m impressed, after a 2 game win streak against Hamilton and Ross County, folk are so confident we’ll score 4+ goals.

Dundee Utd are undefeated in 3, last two were away games and the first was at home to Hibs.

Let’s not get carried away, I’ve maybe not drank as much as I should have this festive period to have a similar outlook mind you.

    (Cracks open a single malt)

    * it, 5-0 against the Arabs then a zombie smashing.

I'm feeling queasy about resting our 10IAR hopes on the shoulders of a 22 year old unproven keeper, a great outfield performance can be undone by a horrendous goalkeeping performance (Rab Douglas had a few against the mutants) & make no mistake, before the penalty shootout that was a very poor performance from Hazard against Hearts in his biggest test, rushing out to Naismith in no man's land in which he got megged which could have easily went in, not claiming crosses through catches or punches, not being physical enough with their players at set pieces, being absolutely nowhere for Hearts 2nd & 3rd goals.

I think Bain is the safest shout, he's beat Sevco twice as a Celtic GK so it's not something he's never experienced, plus I'd trust him to carry out the basics more assured than Hazard currently.

I'm hoping now it's got to crunch time that Lenny lets Hazard down gently, praises him for the shift he's put in & gives him the No.2 spot on the bench.

    Bain
    Ajer Jullien Bitton Laxalt
    Turnbull Soro CalMac
    Rogic
    Eddy Griffiths

I would stick with Hazard. I don't think he is the long term answer but apart from the * up for Hearts third goal he's been okay. New keeper in January is a must. Get Forster in on the 1st of Jan

Is getting Forster before the hun match possible? If not, I don't want Hazard to start against them, has to be Bain.

This team has goals in it ,soro with rogic may allow him to receive the ball that bit quicker along with Turnbull there is more threat and more creativity for our fwds .

I thought he was nervous throughout the hearts game and certainly made a few mistakes. He also hadn't really been tested in the games leading up to the final itself. There's no doubt that opposition managers will have noticed how easy he was bullied by that little * naismith and I think the Utd players (and especially the huns forwards) will bully him at any opportunity they get. Definitely agree with you that we need a new keeper brought in

He was horrendous against Hearts, must be left out for the next 2 games at the very least.

Yet Hazard saves two penalties to basically win the cup for us. Confidence after that can’t be replaced and nor should he until he * up worse than the previous two - which I don’t think he will.
The bullied argument, he was clearly barged and fouled, Naismith is a * and will always try that. Keepers get better protection that what that ref gave him that night but let’s not start on refs again, be here all day.

I think the back line seem better with him in goal, but if it turns out that it doesn’t happen for him then so be it, but for now, he’s the man.

Agree about Hazard and that’s the same team I’ve been thinking we should field in the next 2 games but doubt Lenny will drop Christie and will probably stick with Hazard.

Wouldn't have went to pens had Bain or Barkas been the keeper, for as much as their shot stopping ability isn't near Forster, they can still claim crosses through catch or punch far better than Hazard can, Bain & Barkas don't concede the 2nd Hearts goal because they deal with that cross.

He will break up our attacks with his twitchy whistle , giving fouls for running over oppositions shadows ....

.... while giving us absolutely nothing as our players get hacked and elbowed from end to end..

There was far more that went on in that game that caused the capitulation after being 2 goals up and coasting.

He still largely contributed to the two goals conceded to make it 2-2 & 3-3, I honestly don't know how you can trust the guy over these next two huge games that will define the rest of our season before we sign a new keeper in Jan, I'm hoping Lenny has already informed him he's going to go with experience these next two games in Bain.

That is utter pish. Neither Barkas or Bain has done anything to suggest they are a better keepers. Unless you count pricetag. They have done the square of * all between them.

Hazard may not be the answer but please let's not say either of those two are.
