Having watched Celtic for nigh on 50 years, I have had my share of crushing disappointment and humiliating defeats.

Since I could toddle up Springfield Road holding my dads big strong hand and being lifted over the turnstile to run about down the front during games till I was old enough to appreciate it, to the 4-2 game, to Johnny Doyle dying, to the centenary year, to six years without a trophy, to Seville, to finding out I had then been paying to watch a rigged game, to the invincibles, to the treble treble, to today and lots more in between.

We are born into a love affair with a people and a cause. The only constant in our chaotic lives is the support of our team. We bicker and we disagree about players, formations and managers, but we all support Celtic.

Maybe we all care too much?

Players today are a different breed and are not as connected as they were in the past, but these guys for all their obvious faults this season got us over the line. The pressure on them must be enormous. They will never get the credit in this country for their incredible achievements. Only when we look back in years to come will we truly understand just how difficult it is to win one treble let alone four on the trot.

Yes we need to press reset and start again. Yes we need a change in the dugout. Yes we need a complete overhaul of our board and PR department.

Today though, we made history that will never never be touched. I wish my dad was alive today to celebrate with. We would talk about the Jekyll and Hyde performance, but we would be warm with joy at a momentous victory for Celtic. He would have loved that after living through the 50’s when Jimmy McGrory couldn’t get a tune out of our team and we came close to being relegated.

Just an incredible achievement by the way. I feel like this season, ultimately, will be a disappointment, but we're coming off a period of incredible dominance.

4 trebles in a row, 9 titles in a row and something like 15 out of 20 titles since 2000/01. That's like a generation of dominance and will never be forgotten.
