A few times we’ve had two keepers on the bench.

Sums up the mess of our ‘development’ just now.

Kick in the teeth to the academy players, having two goalies on the bench.

    Must be demoralising.

Give Hazard a game, he cannot do a worse job than the two other keepers we have.

Throwing any youth player on now could seriously hamper their development, the squads toxic to the core, allowing players to mingle and be apart of that could derail progression.

Kind of agree with that but I’d play Welsh over Julie Anny Powder Puff or Ac Milan bound superstar Ajery for me all day.

For me 442 with welsh and bitton as the CBS

Celtic’s u-21 side restored a little broken pride this afternoon with a 3-0 win over the Ibrox counterparts in a Glasgow Cup tie at Dumbarton today.

Detail on the match is very elusive but Video Celts understands that Armstrong Oko Flex and Cameron Harper with a double were on the scoresheet.

Oko-Flex looked to be in the bad books after an ill-judged video appeared on Social Media but the former Arsenal kid was off the bench today to score twice alongwith American striker Harper.

Celtic had already qualified for the final of the competition, today’s defeat leaves the Ibrox kids three points behind Partick Thistle with two matches left to play.

The top two clubs after eight matches will compete in the final in January with the two SPFL Premiership clubs restricted to playing u-21 players with two overage players.

Mikey Johnston, Luca Connell and Stephen Welsh were in the Celtic side.

    CELTIC…3
    (Oko-Flex 6, Harper 37, 65)

    RANGERS…0

CELTIC Colts booked their place in the City of Glasgow Cup final today (Monday) in emphatic fashion, cruising to a comfortable victory over Rangers in Dumbarton.

In a dominant performance from a young Hoops side, goals from Armstrong Oko-Flex and a double from Cameron Harper gave Tommy McIntyre’s team all three points and cemented their place at the top of the group.

First-team squad member, Mikey Johnston returned to action with a valuable 45 minutes under his belt as the Academy graduate continued his hard work back to full fitness.

Speaking after the game, Colts manager Tommy McIntyre told the official Celtic website: “They were great. They stuck to their game-plan which we have been working really hard on. We had a mixture of experience and youth today, and they did really well. Rangers are always a good side but they handled the situation brilliantly.

“Going in at half-time at 2-0 can sometimes be a difficult scoreline, and the next goal is always crucial. When we got the third, it completely settled the game, and I’m really pleased.”

And McIntyre was also full of praise in the club’s treatment of the Academy during this tough year.

“We have had to create a games programme, which has been great,” he said. “It means some first-team lads have had game-time and then, when we’ve not had them, we’ve given Under-18s that experience which gives them a boost. We’ve tried to manage the situation as best as possible.

“We understand the priority is first-team but the club have done amazing to get us training at Barrowfield and at the start, even with a small group you were able to spend time with individuals. The players have responded really well and have acknowledged the fact we’ve worked really hard to get games in.”

The City of Glasgow Cup final will be played at Broadwood on Tuesday 12 January, 2021, with the opponents still to be decided.

CELTIC: Olewayemi, Otoo, Montgomery, Murray, Welsh (McPherson 55), Connell, Harper, Coffey, Oko-flex, Dembele, Johnston (Moffat 46).
Subs: Angelini, Wylie, Carse, Brooks, Davidson

Welsh, Connell, Oko flex, dembele, coffee, Harper. We have so much promise and talent here yet even though the first team are regularly failing. None of these lads are even being subbed on from the bench to freshen things up. Like 65 minutes in 0-0 bring on dembele with Griffiths or oko flex. Players that are attacking, quick and hungry to impress. Didn’t mention mikey as he has been out for so long. Doubt he’d embrace playing for the * who told him to * off when he came off injured btw

At this rate I’d consider keeping him as far away from Lennon as possible.

Probably just tell him to * off like Micky Johnson, great bit of encouragement for an 18 year old, bet all the youth players can’t wait for that.
