That would be the ideal reaction, but I can't see it. I honestly can't see how Lennon stays after this, but although I think it's the correct decision to replace him, I really can't see them pushing the boat out when they do.

    Lennon wants more time!

Why? He has already said he does not know where these performances are coming from. He is still looking for answers. He now admits its 4 months worth of poor performances. It's our worst run in the last 60 years.

All happening under his watch and the board letting it all slide.

Nobody is renewing season books with Lennon in charge so the board should sack him now.

I think the problem is that with the rat it was Desmond who personally dealt with it, all above Lawwell’s head. That would need to happen again.

Likewise the rat brought in a high performing team. We need to do that, but instead we will try and bring in a manager on his own because it’s so much cheaper and hope he can ‘inspire’ the players to win everything.

Regardless how season pans out, nearly 10 years of success, history will look back on this time STILL as one of the greatest times ever at Celtic. Lennon will still be idolised, as will everyone else who got us this far.

For the present, club shot themselves in the foot and put their eggs in one basket. I suspect you will find a marquee manager coming in again like Rodgers did (gives the whole club a lift). It's the only way to resuscitate the season. Desmond is no mug. He'll bail Lawwell out again.

    Why are * mentioning Keane.

    Have we learned nothing??

Someone who isnt irish. Isnt scottish and commands respect and has actually done something in the game as a manager.

Please. * Roy Keane. I'd rather persist with lennon.

Aye Keane, Mon, Strachan are not the answer to this at all.

I'd rather chase jack Ross than those sort of names. And I really don't want to be chasing jack Ross.

Strachan is the only one I can somewhat accept as a short term gig, but then that's the same scenario that got us to this stage with Lennon, so * that as well.

For me, the answer is not going back and it's not within Scottish football as we know it currently.

Not saying it needs to be a fancy foreign name, but it needs to be someone who understands modern football and modern players, to be able to coach them and give them what they need.

What is a fancy foreign name though...feel like that's a phrase used by celtic da's.

We need to go foreign IMO and get someone who will shake the club top to bottom in terms of the culture and bring in his own men.

Director of football as well. I dont see an answer to our problems within British football rn tbh.

No doubt most suggestions will be laughed at as football manager options.

If the job offer was just until the end of the season then i think that would reduce the quality of candidate, would prefer if it was offered as a full time position with a view to build this season and plan for next season, more of a long term plan rather than a quick fix which would apply a helluva lot of pressure on any manager.

He’s had since the rangers loss .... thing is these performances have been dire since the killie draw looking at it from that perspective he’s had 3-4 months to fix it if he can’t do it with that time he can’t do it anytime

Eddie Howe still first choice for me. If not him, I agree with others that it should be a foreigner.

If we don't get Gary Holt, then I'd go all out for Benitez.

Lawell is never going to employ someone to do that. Be like turkeys voting for Christmas. The guy wants ultimate control over things.

I partly agree with that - however, it really shows that Lennon was a "yes man" to Lawwell and knew he was very fortunate to get the job, can you imagine any real top manager being dictated to as to who his backroom staff would be?

The board should not have appointed him at the end of the 2019 season and this season should have acted much earlier and that is their fault. If Lennon walks tomorrow (or does a "mutual consent deal) - he will leave with a degree of dignity.

If he stays and forces the board to sack him to get a payoff - I'm afraid his respect as a Celtic Hero is greatly diminished IMO. He's on a 1 year rolling contract so it's not millions.

I do wish him the best although frankly I think he'll struggle to get another managers job unless its at a pretty low league level.

I think Jack Ross would be an absolute disaster for all parties involved right now.
