why does it take getting knocked out of 3 competions before december for the board to take any action,if that is indeed what they intend to do .if they had acted sooner i have no doubt the europa league could of been salvaged and still on course for another treble ,it really * annoys me the many times ive heard lennon say 'oh we will never see it again' knowing we would never continue that run with that clown in charge

I agree totally with that mate- Keane hated Ferguson, but guy was a quality player getting paid massive bucks at a massive club to do his job to the best of his ability and he just got on with it- loadsa player s don’t like their manager but their getting paid big money to play to their best as a professional football player, and no to down tools like wee spoiled schoolgirls when things aren’t going their way

They should have taken it on the chin and proved him wrong if that's the case.

 

I don’t believe the severance package is the reason Lawwell hasn’t fired him. You’re not talking about that big a sum, even for us. Lawwell genuinely thinks he’s the best man for the job imo.

It isn’t necessarily the case that either party assumes 100% of the blame here. Yes, Lennon is absolutely entitled to anything an everything in his contract, but he’s also capable of telling Lawwell he isn’t the man for the job, and that they need to have a discussion about his severance package, because he needs to go. Even manager that resign won’t be walking away for free - discussions will always take place with some sort of mutual agreement involved.

Hopefully we hear the news we all want to hear tomorrow morning. His time was up weeks ago for me. We still have enough time to salvage this season, but we have to make the right moves, and make them quickly.

 

Teams all over the world have this issue of players seemingly not playing for the manager. It's true in some cases. And I do think we have a couple of players who would rather be anywhere else but here.

However, it's up to Lennon to drop them if that's the case. If he knew players wanted away (as he said after Ferencvaros) then why the * are they still here and starting matches? It's weak management.

The thing is, the vast majority of our players can't be accused of not trying. Frimpong, Ajer, Bitton, Jullien, Laxalt, McGregor, Christie, Elhamed, Rogic, Forrest etc. Nobody with a straight face can say they aren't trying. They are. The problem is there's no structure to the team. Players are playing out of position, or occupying the wrong areas of the pitch because it looks like nobody has a clue what the system is.

Lennon can't moan about players wanting away, if he's going to start them every weekend. If Ntcham wants away, then start Turnbull or Soro. If Edouard wants away, * punt him and start Ajeti/Griffiths/Klimala/new striker.

The solution isn't to scrap the entire squad and start again. That's just nonsense.

The problems are much deeper than NL the fact we have made millions on players and wasted most of it on * signings while letting guys like John McGinn slip through our fingers over pennies says it all.

We should have guys we can trust in every position but we don't. NL isn't the guy who makes the signing he might have a say but he's not the decision maker.

We have been getting weaker every season. Losing guys like Tierney that knew what it meant to the fans.

I gave Ronny dogs abuse but he knew when it was too far gone, Lennon could learn a bit of humility from watching that tbh. His stupid wee smirks and smiles in today’s post match interview were a disgrace.

Club statement just out now

Everyone at the Club is hugely disappointed by this afternoon’s result, one which has ended our phenomenal run of 35 consecutive cup victories.

While we sincerely share the huge disappointment of all Celtic supporters, there can be no excuse for some of the violent scenes at Celtic Park this evening. The Club will be investigating these events fully.

For players and a management team, who have given so much in recent years and have delivered 11 consecutive trophies, to require an escort from Celtic Park while being targeted with missiles, is simply unacceptable.

While we understand that only a small number of people were involved in this behaviour, some of the actions this evening, which have obviously left our own players shaken, cannot be condoned in any way.

 

Gary holt did it last week I'm pretty sure.

 

Fs man even my Mrs huffs don’t last that long, hear about players and managers fukin square goin in a changing room after a game, then the following week it’s forgot about, the outburst was wrong but that long ago can’t even mind what was said so if a stupid spur of the moment outburst like that has them chucking in the towel in 1 of the biggest season s ever then they’re a bigger bunch of pampered * than a thought and any player who did Chuck it after that, can seriously * off out the door behind Lennon

 

Footballers aren't like that anymore that's old school. At the end of the day I think he has lost the dressing room I think that is fairly evident with performances wrongly the players aren't giving 100% but you can't for a second tell me almost to a man every player in the squad has turned to * more or less over night

 

In for a shock come season ticket renewal time next season .....

They can sing for any future purchases from the superstore. Rather give the money to some wee guy fae China making retro tops. Getting * all while PL is running things.

Have the club released a statement? The board should have sacked Lennon as soon as the final whistle went and then there wouldn't have been anyone up Parkhead trying to express the their frustration.
