This really isn’t all that difficult to analyse why we are where we are.

The belief, professionalism, tactics and organisation that Rodgers instilled during his period, carried Lennon through when he joined but all of that had simply degraded to the point we are at now.

There is nothing left of what Rodgers formed, it’s gradually ebbed away and now all we are left with is what Lennon is asking - which quite frankly isn’t good enough.

Lennon self admittedly didn’t want to tear up a winning formula and would lean on his second in charge to keep the momentum going - fair enough and it worked for a while.

We now have a situation where the players clearly don’t believe in the manager, the formation and deep down, perhaps themselves.

I can’t get one comment out of my mind that I believe may have massively contributed to the players decline in confidence.

"The players need to buckle up," he said. "They've been OK but some of their attitudes need to be better. I'm just detecting a bit of malaise sometimes among them and they're not as good as what they think they are.“

    Aug 27th 2020 - Neil Lennon.

I mean, what an utterly pathetic comment and to declare that so early in the season and to say that publicly.

Fair to say I was astonished he said it and was * off. From a club legend that I have for years absolutely admired, *, I’ve still got his life size cut out in the attic from his book signing all those years ago - to scratching my head wondering what the * he’s playing at.

I really do wish he didn’t come back as manager, I didn’t want it at the time but never did I think it would end up quite as bad as this.

    - A step down in caliber from the previous **** and it’s showing massively throughout the club.

I was accused yesterday by someone in here that I wanted Lennon sacked for one reason only and that's because he was from Ulster.... maybe Phil was reading this forum:56:

Hopefully that hits home for him.

The flip side it makes him resentful of the fans and even more stubborn.

    Buckle up

Boom! Head shot. That speaks volumes, more than any of Lennons pals and the media slip could say.

Is there a hint of anti-Irish racism in that statement?

Hard to make out some peoples agenda on here. The fact that he's an angry nordie probably doesn't help in some peoples minds

The fans have pretty much made it clear what they want. It will be interesting to see how the players react tomorrow night.. I think the players performance might be an indication on how they will.

Nah mate, sorry I can't bear going back through the Shane Duffy thread and remind myself of it all. There was boys claiming it was anti irish racism.

The guys an imposter, a fud on social media and should have never darkened our doors.

The decision should be taken by the board at this point. They're trying to avoid paying up 12 months of his rolling contract :99:

Can you not let it go? This was done yesterday and stopped. You even got the last word. At least have a bit of respect for the other posters here and let it drop
