Big game on Thursday for us, and they were fresher as they didn't have that. They were always going to come into the game later on. We were cruising and managing the game as we didn't need to chase it. Edouard just coming back from being out means he was always going to tire.

I've been saying that for a while now. Some of the players seem to be blowing out of their arses around the hour mark (Laxalt excluded as he could run all day). Obviously need to look at stamina training as Lennoxtown.

I think too many people seriously underestimate the difference playing one extra match can have on a team's overall recovery. We dominated that game despite them having fresher legs. A total non issue imo.

Annoying, but pleasing that he opens that interview with admitting second half we was leggy.
Just wish and hope he recognises it earlier and does better with the subs to rectify it next time.

Clearly he is delighted to get this win and on to the final and I and us all hope is the kick on we need.

    Well done for today Lennon.

Who oversees fitness now? Is it still Jack Nayler?

He’s still sticking with this “lost one game” patter instead of looking at the bigger picture.

Still refusing to accept it is more than one defeat against the huns and that the criticism is fair.
Wish he would acknowledge the fans are asking questions here, not just the media, and that he would treat us with a bit more respect, if not the media.

But this is the position he is taking, the hope is going forward we build on this.

9 points behind because we have 2 games in hand. One of them because of Lennon's success which people rarely praise. Hope you cheer up for the cup final in December!

Excellent first half, not great in the 2nd but sittin with a 2 goal lead and after Thursday night's excursions it's to be expected, job done and a chance to achieve the QT.

Wish Lenny would get the subs on earlier, but that aside it's been a good day.

Big win and winning the Cup can provide an excellent boost for this squad.

    Agreed.

People making a mountain out of a molehill.

Sports Science 101 will tell you that it's not possible to fully recover in a 60 hour window after playing one of the top teams in France.

That's before you even consider that Eddie, Bitton and Elhamed have just returned from a debilitating respiratory virus, Rogic still a few games short of full match fitness and Christie just back from a 2 week isolation period.

Ours subs could've been better today IMO but a 2-0 win against a dogged Aberdeen team on a heavyish Hampden pitch is fine.

    We go on...

Credit where it’s due, if you’d told me on Thursday afternoon that we’d draw in Lille and win pretty comfortably today, I’d have bit your hand off.

I thought first half today we played some great stuff. There was a 20 minute spell or so that was very very promising. Second half we defended well when required.

What I will say though is that the fitness levels are a huge concern. We were knackered after an hour on Thursday night and knackered after 55 minutes today. We were punished for it on Thursday and it could have been a very nervy ending today has Aberdeen managed to get a goal back. We’re obviously playing a lot of games, but we should be looking physically stronger than we are. You could even argue that a few of the muscular injuries we’ve had are no coincidence. It’s something Lennon was heavily criticised for in his first spell in charge and there are definitely big warning signs there.

Good win though and hopefully we kick on again on Thursday.

The signs of improvement are there. I still don't think he is the right man for us but at least the team is improving, even if it's for 45 minutes at a time.

NL: It's fantastic to be in another cup final and follow on from a great performance in France on a really heavy pitch. I thought we were very comfortable and were outstanding in the first-half."

NL:As expected, the players tired in the second-half and we had to change the shape and change the personnel but we saw the game out comfortably and it’s another cup final to look forward to."

NL: I’m sure there was a lot of expectation and pressure on the players but they didn’t show any of it and handled the occasion very well."

NL: I thought the ones coming in, Edouard, Bitton and Rogic contributed brilliantly to the team. The two wide men were fantastic and scored two great goals and I thought we should maybe have been one or two more up in the first-half."

NL: We looked more like ourselves and we restricted them to very little. It was a good performance."

We dropped 7 points in three games, that is why we have such a big gap.

A tale of gradual improvement. Let's hope for a...cheeky win in Europe, next.

Happy with his choices today, could have made the suns a bit earlier but we managed the game in the second half comfortably, something he has been heavily criticized for not managing before
