    Don’t think I’d ever seen him play before, but though EPL centre back and Ireland regular he must be not bad. He must be better than he’s shown so far with us surely. He looks utterly * so far

    I think playing for his boyhood club has been too much for him, needs to detach himself from the emotion of it and concentrate on his game, the basic art of defending.

    He’s used to playing in a team that mostly is on the back foot and plays deep. He’s in a team now where he’s actually expected to play a bit of football which is hard for him as he’s a honking footballer, he’s also a big clumsy *.

    The fact he looked more comfortable when we were heavily under the cosh kinda points to why he’s going to struggle to adapt to being a Celtic centre half. He’s spent years being a last ditch barrier who sits at the edge of his box clears his lines at every opportunity.

    Hes had a rough start for sure and was unconvincing again for a large part of the game but towards the end he made a couple of strong challenges and won 3 or 4 headers from dangerous situations .
    Hopefully that gives the boy some much needed confidence as it looks like were going to need him after ajer picking up an injury !!

    See when I don’t do the basics in my job, my boss doesn’t mollycoddled me and say “don’t worry, your confidence is a bit low and you’ll be okay”
    I get told, get your finger out your * and get up to speed.
    Not sure why we treat footballers with kid gloves.
