We've looked really poor without Brown, so as it stands, he's one of the 1st names on the team sheet for me.

I doubt if we could compete with those 3 teams for managers who come from that part of the world. I think they'd stay where they are and wait for a bigger move rather than come to Scotland. There'd be no harm in asking but I don't think they'd come. Same for most successful managers on the continent - they'll be looking to manage in a bigger league than ours and might even see us as a step down. I think if we're getting a manager from abroad it'll be someone relatively unproven or who has had limited success in a small league like Deila had. Personally I'd rather have someone who'd shown he could be successful in British football at a reasonable level like Alex Neil.

It’s always the same with the ‘who else is there?’ Mob.

You give them names and they’ve already decided they’re unrealistic, unattainable, too much of a risk etc.

We got Brendan Rodgers Fucksake. People can put that down to boyhood connection or whatever but that appointment put us on a different level, or should have.

The same way nearly every player dreams of playing in the EPL, managers will dream of getting there too. After Rodgers we should’ve had the pick of candidates from all over Europe.

Yet we didn’t even look at the applicants.

People thinking we can’t compete for a manager with Union Berlin shows how out of touch and devoid of ambition our support really are.

You only need to look at some of the managers/Head Coaches who have come into clubs in recent seasons and done well such as David Wagner at Huddersfield, Daniel Farke at Norwich, Marco Rose at Salzburg, then BM and his replacement Jesse Marsch. Guys who were all pretty unknown but have done excellent jobs.

I would love Ralf Rangnick either as manager or even as a director of football with a promising young German head coach under him. However I can’t see it as I think the stage Ralf is at it would take a big club in one of the big leagues to attract him.

For those saying Eddie Howe is not attainable I am not so sure much like the player development part, you could sell the Rodgers story had a chance at big club in PL hadn’t worked out came to Celtic rebuilt his reputation now in a job competing at the top end of the table. I think a progressive coach like Howe could be persuaded by that sort of model as long as PL wasn’t sticking his oar in too much which is part of our bigger problem.

100% agree. What should've done and what we hopefully do from now on. I have now idea why we haven't been. We all want it, bar a few that seem like they'd all be a Deila type, which they wouldn't considering they've come from teams that regularly over achieve against big guns in Europe. Like we used to do.

Thing is, he's doing a lot of things that fans have wanted to see.
3-5-2 worked so well for us tail end of last season. Folk had that as their suggested formation for most matches as well.

Changed to a back 4 and looked better. We hoped he would stick with it next game and he did.

Using subs more often. Dropped brown a few times.

So it's not like he isn't trying different things.. it just seems like he can't find a way to keep the players focused or instil some confidence.

I think you're wrong if you think we can compete with any Bundesliga team. Seriously who's going to choose Scotland over the Bundesliga. Even one of the smaller clubs over there if they do well can be a stepping stone to bigger things. Your view of Celtic's standing in Europe I think is way off the mark. We got Rodgers because he was out of work, had some feeling for the club, had a connection with DD and I think he just thought it would be an interesting distraction until something better came along. No manager in the continent fits that profile.

I may be wrong here, but didn't we play the rescheduled game against St Mirren and it is Aberdeen we still have to play in our game in hand?

He has not started 2 out of the 15 games.

We have been utter dug * in at least 11 of those other games that he was involved in.

We've not actually played 2 strikers much at all so far this season its been either Christie or Elyounoussi just off one striker.. This hasn't worked..

Edouard and Griff/Ajeti up top in a 3-5-2 can definitely work.

My point is that your point is unrealistic. We'll not agree so best to agree to disagree. When we do get a new manager it will be a gamble whoever and we get and whatever their background is. It's hard to predict who is going to be successful. No-one thought Jansen was a great appt and the huns thought they had the best manager on the planet when they got Le Guen. We'll just have to support whoever comes in when the time comes.

Our whole structure needs a revamp tho, hopefully after securing the 10..

We should go down the Director of Football route and revamp the whole footballing operation.. Then employ coaches for 3/4 season and when then move on our structure remains vibrant.. We need a brand new vision.

Our structure at the moment with PL carrying out pseudo footballing roles is archaic and not attractive to the best up and coming coaches. And doesn't achieve any sustainability for us.

It needs to change whether we secure the 10 or not. No point having innovation in first team coaching when they're hamstrung by an outdated footballing operation.
