So what you've really pointed out is that these young successful managers get their big move to a Bundesliga team which is probably a dream move for them. And you think they'd choose a move to Scottish football over that. Total pie in the sky stuff.

It's been a very difficult run of matches. As tough as it gets. If we lose on pens to Aberdeen, you want him sacked?

    Not for me!

Failing to beat Aberdeen, twice, in the space of a week would be a disgrace. How low are your standards?

I think the idea is that you approach managers of that calibre before they get the opportunity to move to the Bundesliga.

Trying to identify who would could get is an impossible task really - but I do think @Jeremie Frimpong is correct in that there are good managers out there that would be interested in a move here.

Overall though, I feel as though what’s needed is much more long-term/structural than just a change of manager.

    I think you're under-rating Aberdeen. They're a good side this season.

If we can't beat St Mirren, I'll join in with the criticism. We will though, so 3 points is the gap.

All Lennon has to do to keep his job is not get embarrassed tomoro night and fall over the line v Aberdeen at the weekend. But really the real test will come away to Motherwell and Hibs.

If they are successful, they are 'total pie in the sky stuff'; if they are unsuccessful, they are undesirable.

I was, in fact, simply giving examples of title-winning managers in comparable leagues going on to have successful careers, in order to refute the ludicrous argument that they would fail at Celtic because Deila did.

If we cannot compete with Hertha Berlin (Favre), Borussia Mönchengladbach (Rose), and Union Berlin (Fischer) for managers, we can certainly compete with Zürich, Red Bull Salzburg, and Basel.

If you don't think we'll beat St Mirren, I'll give you the 3 points gap? Hand on heart, do you think we won't?

Aberdeen are a good side this season. Best for some time in my honest opinion. I was gutted Sevco got them on the opening day before they kicked into form. I think we'll beat them at Hampden but if we don't, it's not the end of the world.

The window was fantastic? The board backed the manager, yes but the signings were poor for me as it stands.

    Duffy - Disaster
Barkas - Nowhere near Forster and expensive
Ajeti - Early days but expensive
Turnbull - One for the future
Moi - Not good enough. Knew this last season.
Laxalt - Too early to have an opinion

None of the above would make my starting 11 if all available with the exception of Barkas for now and we didn't sign a DM to back-up Brown.

I'm expecting Lille to comfortably beat us in the form they're in. Think we all know it's going to be 3 nil or something.

The semi final will be tense and yes, Motherwell away is massive.

We've looked really poor without Brown, so as it stands, he's one of the 1st names on the team sheet for me.

I doubt if we could compete with those 3 teams for managers who come from that part of the world. I think they'd stay where they are and wait for a bigger move rather than come to Scotland. There'd be no harm in asking but I don't think they'd come. Same for most successful managers on the continent - they'll be looking to manage in a bigger league than ours and might even see us as a step down. I think if we're getting a manager from abroad it'll be someone relatively unproven or who has had limited success in a small league like Deila had. Personally I'd rather have someone who'd shown he could be successful in British football at a reasonable level like Alex Neil.

It’s always the same with the ‘who else is there?’ Mob.

You give them names and they’ve already decided they’re unrealistic, unattainable, too much of a risk etc.

We got Brendan Rodgers Fucksake. People can put that down to boyhood connection or whatever but that appointment put us on a different level, or should have.

The same way nearly every player dreams of playing in the EPL, managers will dream of getting there too. After Rodgers we should’ve had the pick of candidates from all over Europe.

Yet we didn’t even look at the applicants.

People thinking we can’t compete for a manager with Union Berlin shows how out of touch and devoid of ambition our support really are.

You only need to look at some of the managers/Head Coaches who have come into clubs in recent seasons and done well such as David Wagner at Huddersfield, Daniel Farke at Norwich, Marco Rose at Salzburg, then BM and his replacement Jesse Marsch. Guys who were all pretty unknown but have done excellent jobs.

I would love Ralf Rangnick either as manager or even as a director of football with a promising young German head coach under him. However I can’t see it as I think the stage Ralf is at it would take a big club in one of the big leagues to attract him.

For those saying Eddie Howe is not attainable I am not so sure much like the player development part, you could sell the Rodgers story had a chance at big club in PL hadn’t worked out came to Celtic rebuilt his reputation now in a job competing at the top end of the table. I think a progressive coach like Howe could be persuaded by that sort of model as long as PL wasn’t sticking his oar in too much which is part of our bigger problem.

100% agree. What should've done and what we hopefully do from now on. I have now idea why we haven't been. We all want it, bar a few that seem like they'd all be a Deila type, which they wouldn't considering they've come from teams that regularly over achieve against big guns in Europe. Like we used to do.
