MON saying Lenny can't do anything about team being leaked.

Yes he * can. He can call the team meeting the day he picks the team and only let himself, the players, Kennedy and Strachan in.

Also do not release the written copy to anyone else within the club apart from the media department until an hour or so before kick off. That way it stays quiet. Unless its a member of the squad or Kennedy or Strachan, which is highly unlikely.

I'm gonna wait and see the line up for Milan and Aberdeen before I completely lose the head. Big changes needed yes.. next two games definitely going to be a big indicator

It's time to get behind the manager. Tough run of matches coming up. 2 wins v Aberdeen will lift the spirits again along with having our 1st team players back all going well.

Was thinking I'd like to see this system and line-up in place until Forrest returns....

    ............................Barkas

    Elhamed........Jullien....Ajer.......Taylor

    ...................Bitton.........Brown
    ........................McGregor

    .........Christie...................Edouard
    .........................Griffiths

I feel this 11 has much better of balance and quality.

Saturday’s match was utterly soul destroying. Losing to them is bad enough, but it’s the sloppy, meek, barely even half-hearted performances that have become something of a routine that’s the real issue.

We just look utterly bereft of ideas and anything resembling tactics. It was genuinely like watching people play football during a period of core P.E. (although I’ve probably seen more intensity and passion during those games, than on Saturday). Just a bunch of guys jogging about with no guidance or tactics, going through the motions with the odd person taking it seriously.

I would genuinely love to know what we’re doing in training, because I don’t think I’ve seen a single piece of play that looks like it was developed on the training pitch. We’re rank at set pieces, players don’t really seem to know what they’re doing, there’s no real fluidity, teammates are playing like they’re complete strangers, there’s an over-reliance on individual players pulling something off and so on. Maybe I’m giving him too much credit, but we’ve declined massively since Duff left and Strachan came in. We have some genuinely decent players in our squad (and I truly believe that man for man, our squad is significantly better than theirs) but that can only take you so far when you don’t have any real plan outside of ‘go out and score goals’. We saw it on Saturday and we’ve seen it in Europe with teams like Cluj. You can have a squad of average players but if you’re well drilled, with decent organisation and a developed game plan, you can absolutely get a result against a better team.

Team selection and squad utilisation continues to be bizarre. I completely accept that we had COVID and injury issues to work around, but that still doesn’t excuse all of it. As soon as I saw Elyounoussi & Kilmala starting up front and the Brown/McGregor/Ntcham combo, I started feeling a bit nervous. Elyounoussi simply isn’t a striker (no matter how many times he’s forced into that role) and while Kilmala has potential, he needs a more assured strike partner. I’ve had my criticisms of Griffiths, but given that he scored in our last match and played the majority of the bounce game, I don’t understand why he didn’t start alongside Kilmala. Beyond that, there’s the issue of players just not getting a proper chance. We know Turnbull’s a talented player, and from what little we’ve seen of Soro and Connell they both look promising as well. Yet they’re relegated to the bench or fleeting sub appearances or, in Connell’s case, not even that. These are guys that could be adding a new dynamic to our team, but they’re just not given the chance to prove it.

His stubbornness when it comes to making substitutions is beyond infuriating. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen a manager struggle so much with utilising substitutions as Lennon does. Whatever we were attempting to do, was blatantly not working. However, instead of making the obvious changes at half-time (Griffiths/Ajeti on for Elyounoussi and Turnbull for Ntcham) he stuck with them for an extra ten minutes, and only made the change when they inevitably scored their second. I don’t know if he places too much faith in his starting XI to turn things around, if he doesn't want to admit he got it wrong or if he just genuinely doesn't know how to change things up.

While the tactical issues are a massive problem, it’s even more concerning that not only does the squad look disinterested but that Lennon himself looks completely lost.

Watching him sitting on the bench arms folded, not interacting with either the players or the coaching staff when we’re 2-0 to our domestic rivals and putting on an utterly shameful performance is a massive red flag. Gerrard might be a complete walloper, but, like the Snake used to do, he was in near constant conversation with his coaching staff. Lennon, meanwhile, looked like he was ready for a hole in the ground to come and swallow him up.

I was honestly in disbelief when I read that he said that we ‘ran out of ideas’. Putting aside the fact that I don’t know what idea we even had in the first place, why would you even admit that publicly? What does it say about his managerial capabilities that with the players he has at his disposal (and we still had enough talent to do something) he couldn’t come up with anything better than a game plan that saw us concede two goals and produced a single shot on target?

The vast majority of players look like they genuinely don’t know what they’re supposed to be doing and that they don’t really give a * anyway. If someone told me that the they actively wanted Lennon to be sacked, I could absolutely believe it; because they’re certainly not playing like a squad giving their all for their manager. Slating certain players like he did post Ferencvaros (and then continuing to play them anyway) isn’t usually a sign of a harmonious dressing room and I honestly wonder how it was received. Brown basically contradicted him at the time and McGregor’s recent comments don’t exactly read like a ringing endorsement either.

I appreciate the titles he’s guided us to in both of his tenures but, for me, it’s time to go. While sacking him is absolutely a massive gamble, for a variety of reasons, I’m not convinced letting him carry on is any less risky. He’s not learning from his mistakes, our performances have largely been dismal, he’s not getting the best out of our players, the squad looks unmotivated and with each passing game he’s looking increasingly closer to his wits end.

Maybe he’ll surprise us against Milan and Aberdeen, but unless there’s evidence of a major turnaround in attitude (from the players as well) and management style, he needs to go. There’s no point in limping along to December or in to 2021 and then finally deciding it’s time to make a change. If there’s any sort of discussions happening about a managerial change (which I admittedly doubt) then a decision needs to be made sooner rather than later. At least then a new appointment would have plenty of time to get to know the squad, implement their style & philosophy and have some time to plan for the January window.

That Celtic Da patter is chronic. I also don’t know one person who has a problem with constructive criticism. It’s when said criticism spills over into abuse that annoys me.

I'd like to see us play the same formation as deadco 4-3-3 and when we play them match up with them 4-3-3 then see whos better then

Even saying he can't stop it is so weak..

Almost as weak as using it as an excuse for our performance..

Honestly don't think Kennedy and Strachan are helping him that much tbh.

They look as much out of sync as Lenny does....they just totally look out of touch with each other ...it's rather shambolic.

We’re struggling to create chances right now, so your solution is to start Bitton and Brown in midfield, with Elhamed and Taylor as our full backs?

Can’t begin to imagine how slow and boring that team would be.

    Please no.

We can’t scream and shout for 3-5-2 and then * the bed and go backwards. Just needs the right players, with the right tactics. If it continues to fail then change it. We were destroying teams with Eddy and Griff leading it before.

That team is horrific with two holding mids. We don’t need that. Edouard is hardly going to put a shift in on the left tracking back.

That seems right out of the Lennon play book!

    How you doing Neil?
Hopefully all this calling for your head isn't ruining your day too much. :50:

This is the thing that gets me.

PL cannot risk not winning the title with the financial clout it brings with the opportunity of Champions League qualification. Especially when he's pumped in so much money this window. He must've been raging seeing us being dumped by Ferencvaros, a team that was assembled with a budget that is a fraction of ours, and then going all the way to the group stages.

Cluj, Copenhagen, Ferencvaros and every hun game are huge alarm bells. I'm not overlooking the great results, I applaud him for his double over Lazio and coming in when Rodgers left and getting us over the line.

The huns would've never have lost against Cluj, Copenhagen or Ferencvaros. They don't lose against diddies in Europe. We do. They turn up for the Glasgow Derby. We don't.

We have the better players but no one is utilising them properly.

Time for a clean slate sooner rather than later. But with all that said, I think we'd get destroyed by AC Milan and beaten by Aberdeen and Lennon would still be in charge.
