Atrocious today. One-dimensional player that is easily taken out of the game by bigger, smarter players. Bullied from start to finish.

Frimpong would stand a far better chance of performing with James Forrest playing ahead of him. People don't appreciate the work-rate Forrest puts in. That would free up space.

Same has to happen on the left too.

Does his best work going forward. Defensively not so much. In a 4 with less freedom to get forward and his stature meaning he would be targeted I don't see him as a starter and i think we should be playing with a 4.

Im sure the shackles were probably put on him about driving forward as much, but he's simply no a defender and his final ball is very poor. Plus as much as it sickens me too say, he was against better players than the usual dross we're up against. But lads his age are prone to these performances so i'm sure he'll be back carrying us again soon

Frimpong has been our biggest threat. We’ve all seen it this season.

Sometime he is our only threat and that is why he was ineffective yesterday because Rangers just doubled up on him (Barisic and Kamara) and stuffed him out of the game.

He had no support in-front of him. It was Ntcham’s responsibility to get over there and help him but it didn’t work.

Some of the criticism on here is incredibly harsh.

He was terrible yesterday, there’s no doubt about that, but the reality is we should be relying on a teenage right back to take the reigns in a derby, and be our attacking outlet. He simply shouldn’t have to shoulder that responsibility on his own.

He’s a terrific talent and has already demonstrated that, but he’s not going to be capable of running the entire right hand side of the pitch by himself, particularly up against an experienced international like Barisic.

    Yep..

They identified him as the danger man and had 3 men on him at time's..

Our failure to get bodies close to him in space with 3 player's being round him...was criminal..

Ntcham did it once or twice first half then fuckall after..

We're always relying on him. It stinks..

I think we have all got a bit carried away with the positive attacking impression he's made and are expecting too much of him.

Yesterday also showed why we still need someone like El Hamed as an option.

He's young and we had the inexperienced Welsh behind him too with Ntcham offering nothing in the way of support..

Elhamed as RCB is the perfect foil for Frimpong..

When we’re giving the ball to an inexperienced right wing back, and standing back hoping he can beat 2/3 players and make something happen, you know things aren’t going to plan.

It’s very symptomatic of our play this season. Give it to Christie, McGregor, Edouard or Frimpong and hope they can create something out of nothing. They’re all very good and occasionally will, but it’s not a real strategy, it’s just having better players than the opposition.

I can’t remember if it was the last game vs Sevco or the cup final, but there was one recently where he was our only player capable of taking the ball in and creating anything.

There should never really be that expectation of him, or at least not for him to be able to do that without a decent level of support.

Something some of us have been saying this season far too often..

We've been getting by due to our quality in the final third dragging us through most of our game's, from the player's you've mentioned, rather than slick patterns of play..

I know he's currently the darling of the Celtic support but the Huns well and truly have this guys number. This is not the first time he's completely disappeared against them. If El Hamed is fit then Frimpong needs dropped in the next game v the huns. El Hamed is big physical player who can handle himself whereas in Frimpongs case it really was men against boys. He's young and will hopefully learn in time but this is a ongoing trend with him against the huns, he looks completely lost.

Cruelly isolated they do it well with the more experienced Forrest too, we should be moving the ball quickly to exploit the space that doubling up on Frimpong produces..

Trouble is we had the total waste of space which is Ntcham as the one who should be exploiting that..

Not to mention the even more inexperienced Welsh behind him.. Its no wonder we struggled when those were the right-sided options for us, a joke really.

He didn't have his best game but Frimpong is the least of our worries, we rely too heavily on the wee man in any case.

    LOL..

Yep. Sometimes 3 men surrounding him and as you say, that's where we should have the likes of Ntcham taking up pockets of space but nope....he got zero help on a side he had to patrol on his own..

Shambolic and criminal tactically when it was Barisic and Kent....probably their 2 biggest threats down that side..

Especially when they pulled no surprises..

We knew how who they'd play and how they'd play with the full back's creating and Kent roaming around..

They should've been stumped trying to work out what we were gonna go with, with us having so many player's out....yet they had us sussed from the off..

    Atrocious..
