After a couple days to reflect on this result I've actually moved more towards thinking we need a change in manager. I don't think the result in Saturday is enough to sack Lennon but taking into account the Ferencvaros result, the flat performances/scraping wins in the league, Copenhagen game, and the comments now coming out again that there's problems in the dressing room it's not a good look for Lennon.

He got the benefit of the doubt after Cluj as the board took stick for not getting players in quickly enough, then as well on Saturday I gave him more slack due to the circumstances with covid and injuries to key players but I was maybe being naïve and not wanting to see the bigger picture.

I didn't think that sacking a manager is gonna lead to success and I still think we'd basically be giving the Huns a monumental psychological boost if we did that - but with the next few games coming up it should be a case of Lennon needing to turn it round instantly to save himself now. A hammering off Milan and dropping points just cannot happen - even scraping wins in the league might not be enough to convince anyone.

If the players don't start putting in better performances for him then its clear he's completely lost the dressing room. It looks as though Brown is still playing for Lennon and would explain why he continually plays him as he was the only one in Saturday flying into challenges, barking orders and seeming genuinely * off at the way the game was going. He can't do it on his own though and it's worrying that the rest of the players seemed like they haven't bothered moving up a gear all season as yet.

It's sad how much player power there is in football, and even Lennon has admitted himself that he's had to adapt to the modern day footballer with how he treats/trains them. It's showing right now he is struggling to get them ticking. Our squad is better than the performances we've seen so far, he deserves the chance to turn it around but it feels like we're close to the tipping point.

Yes as it stands we are still in with a decent chance of winning 10 in a row despite the recent meltdown against the huns. If we change the manager now we could be throwing away any chance we have. The upheaval of appointing a new manager with new tactics, new ideas, new team selections and most important needing time to get to know the club and the players could hand the title to the huns. Very easy to shout 'change the manager' but people need to think about all that will entail. I just think there is a high chance replacing the manager while the season is well under way could mean kissing goodbye to 10 in a row, as it stands its still a strong possibly we will win the league.

I was saying, in interviews Lennon is adamant that players win games & doesn't seem to care about tactics so really doesn't listen to them regarding that side of things.
Im not getting carried away or saying there is a problem. I'm saying Lennon isn't into tactics so really doeant take on anything they say about tactics. Saturday shows he thinks tactics are a load of *.

It's no the best and if he's no, he should be caring..

That or he should have guy's in who are top drawer with that side of thing's..

Whatever they're working on and overseeing just now....it isn't working at all..

One thing that's clear as day....is we need a lot of work on the training ground..

Working on our pressing. Our passing. Our defending as a unit. Partnership's on the pitch as we don't look like we have any. How to counter effectively. Patterns of play..

A lot of this is basic stuff and yet we're seeing barely any of it during game's..

No identity. No creativity. Looking for individuals to dig us out a hole. Almost look like a whole team of individual's in fact..

    Isn't good enough..

Jack Ross at least had enough tactical nous to nullify der hun and get a point- and tbf on a different day it could've been all three. Lennon didn't. I don't think JR should replace NL or anything I just think that our issues all revolve around tactical ineptitude.

He seems to have it in his head that if a player is injured for a couple weeks then he can’t possibly be match fit to start a game for ages after. Keep hearing and seeing stuff from NL about players fitness this year. What are they doing through the week?

Also doesn't trust a lot of his squad..

    Doesn't trust Soro
    Doesn't trust Rogic
    Doesn't really trust Klimala
    Doesn't trust Connell
Doesn't fully trust Turnbull to come in right now despite him bossing domestically for a pish Motherwell side

Only played Welsh once for his debut last seaso. I know circumstances and all that but he's never gonna be ready if that's all he's had beforehand before playing the mutants..

We have a big squad. It's time to start using it correctly and sensibly..

Our midfield needs freshening up. A Connell, Turnbull and Soro trio in a home game to a bottom 6 side...would anyone have any worries about that? Most would welcome something like that now and again when McGregor and Christie have played a lot of football at club and international level..

Genuine question mate. Let’s say we would get beat by both Milan and Aberdeen, would Lennon get sacked?

Just curious as I disagree with you over the past few days, but are a member that keeps calm when most go berserk

Totally agree re trust issues and a freshen up of the midfield. I thought we signed Turnball and Soro to give the guys starting every week some competition or at least a rest now and again. But it seem to be neither of them. Brown and McGregor will only ever be left out once on a bluemoon and it will never be for more than one game, straight back in regardless of how well whoever played instead did.

I'm unsure on that one, probably not..

But the board have backed him and are aware of whats at stake..

Performance/reaction v Milan essential, result not so much..

Performance and win essential at Aberdeen.

Lenny's decision making this season has been appalling, team selection has been all over the place, you can see it during a game, if it isn't working both he and the rest of the coaching staff just sit there lookin clueless, powerless to do anything about it.

The fact that that mob have been able to walk away from CP yet again with the 3 points is really damning of Lenny's ability as a manger, he's clearly learned nothing from the previous defeats.

Lennon has been over this course before. He was nearly a goner when we were 3-0 down at HT to Killie and Anthony Stokes pulled him out of a big hole as we were 10 points behind the huns in the league. He overturned that deficit around by New Year and went on to win the league in 2012 against a better Hun team. He is going to need a similar response from his players and thankfully it is early in the season. The next couple of weeks will be crucial in wether he continues his mission or step aside for someone else. Atm I’m happy to give him and the players the backing because it is vital we are working in harmony in such an important season but he can’t continue with the current situation. Something needs to change and whatever it is Lennon can’t leave no stone left unturned. I would be less confident going with a new man at the wheel for the rest of the season. It’s a big gamble to expect someone to come in and deal with whatever *, hit the ground running and deliver immediate success. I’d be much more confident about Lennon and his team to turn it around with a great squad to select from but he needs to utilise them properly. As for next season I do think it’s time for him to step down regardless of what trophies are won. He looks like he hasn’t slept in weeks and if he is battling depression again the job won’t be helping.

I'm not a fan of Director of Football, but may be something to consider?

    Experienced person like Martin O'Neill?

In fact, get O'Neill and Keane in now. :57:

Neither would accept players not playing for them.

A Forest supporting mate of mine couldn't stand O'Neill, he didn't specifically say players weren't playing for him but that he wasn't getting the team to perform. Keane would inevitably have a public fall out with someone. I just don't see it working. Though I'm not against a DoF being put in place, from the viewpoint of having a long term recruitment plan in place.

O'Neill was a great manager 15 years ago, think his time has come and gone though.
