If the club starts * about with players and forcing them to rot because the money is not right,we get a reputation of a club not to be trusted and it gets even harder to buy young talent. I would rather lose a player for 20 million than have 1 or 2 BOBO every season.

Only thing i’m curious about now, is, why did they not back Rodgers in the same way?

I wouldnt trust Congerton with a five pound note.

The challenge from the Huns wasnt as great either. Rodgers was still backed.

Because he's a rat basturt that wasted millions in transfer fees and wages.

Kouassi, Gamboa, De Vries, Hendry, Compper, Musonda etc. etc.

Didn’t they? The numbers don’t reflect your argument, he spent over 30 million and broke out transfer record into the bargain.

Maybe they had enough when he bought Jack Hendry after a semi decent game against us, or it could be the fact him and Congerton spunked millions on a pile of *!

Lawwell and the board have done their bit this summer.

Quality additions, big investment, while retaining all our top players.

It's now all on to the players and staff to repay that and deliver the 10 now.

    Mon the Celtic

I withdraw my previous statement. I forgot about some of his signings, and i forgot it was mainly down to Congerton.

Lawwell and the board deserve a lot of credit at this stage.
I say this on the provision that we are not going to sell anyone at the 11th hour now.

They've backed Lennon and the squad massively this summer. 3 big signings in terms of positions and fees paid.
3 massive loan deals in calibre and experience.
6 players that none at all are projects.
6 players that instantly improve the match day squad.

Not one player from the first team squad has left (eboue being only named player out the door for a fee).

Doing this for the ten season needs applauded doing this during a global pandemic and economic uncertainty is even more worthy of credit.

Seeing the bank balance later on will be interesting, not that I feel we are in danger, but merely that I'm curious to the impact this has had on the saving we had been making.

From here on out, as far as this season is concerned, it's on the management and the players to deliver.

The board has backed the squad, the fans have done everything they can to back them as well, from season ticket holders all renewing at full price to the unbelievable uptake on merchandise ( no small part to the branding).

    Well done to the board.
Coming from someone who normally quite happily puts the boot in to them.

And on that note I must add, this does not excuse them of past issues, but for now they deserve a lot of praise.

Aaah, the bi-annual "we love and deeply respect Peter Lawwell" show.

Tune in 6 months from now when the pitchforks shall be back out.

If Eddy is still here in 2 hours, then Lawwell deserves a lot credit for this window.
The best window since Brendan Rodger's first.

    1) they did back him, and he bought a fair amount of pish with that money. Great coach, but a lot to be desired with some of his transfer activities.
    2) if the board had given him £20M, he'd have wanted £30M. Give him £30M, he'll want £50M. That's just his way. We can't afford that kind of guy in charge.
