It's not someone to challenge Taylor we need, it's someone to replace him.

 

Think another bid will be put on the table for Colina with sessegnon bound for the Bundesliga & Barry Douglas not happening. Outwith that more than likely the usual Loan deal from the EPL or some youngster from Europe for the Wing. Not long left but fairly confident things will be ironed out.

Absolute no doubt the board have done well earlier in the window with barkas, ajeti, Duffy, Ely and Turnbull.

But not getting a left back in by now is a joke.
We knew before even lockdown that a new left back was needed, then boli was a * 8 weeks ago and was shipped out, all that time it was a major issue and position needing sorted. Bit poor that we have left it so late yet again here.

I've settled that we aren't getting the other centre back I believe we need, but a left back after the boli shambles is ridiculous that we haven't got one in yet.


Ideal will be left back, young centre back and a winger.

I'll be happy enough with a left back by the end of the window now. But left late, again.

Credit to the board for their early dealings, but like Lennon with his management, some good does not excuse the blatant and obvious flaws.

A couple of weeks ago it was shaping up to be a great window.

Failing to get a LWB would ultimately make it not good enough.

 

We’ve got to get a LB in.

We would be * if Taylor picked up an injury.

 

Lenny said it will go to the wire and we know pistol likes a deadline day deal

 

Fully expect a couple on deadline day. We like a late announcement.

 

Because we wait until the European outcome of course. Think the LB issue shows the board/club was happy with boli and Taylor as the options tho until boli got his hole

 

Neil Lennon last night insisted Europa League success has bolted shut the Celtic exit door ahead of tomorrow’s transfer deadline.



The Hoops boss believes securing a money-spinning group spot alongside AC Milan, Lille and Sparta Prague should ensure the likes of Odsonne Edouard and Ryan Christie are going nowhere.


Lennon hopes it will be one-way traffic into his club tomorrow with Charlton’s Alfie Doughty and Tottenham’s Ryan Sessegnon both still on his radar as possible recruits to bolster his options on the left flank.

Reports from Italy suggest a loan move for Juventus defender Mattia De Sciglio is a non-starter but the Northern Irishman is adamant any business done will only strengthen his squad.




He said: “There will be a lot of names thrown at us over the next couple of days and from my own experience I know a lot of deals can be done in the last few hours of the window. You will have to watch this space.

It’s fraught, there’s no question of that, but I’m really confident we will have all our players here.

Lennon wouldn’t confirm or deny whether Sessegnon is a realistic target from Spurs.




But he admitted providing quality competition for Greg Taylor is a priority after moving on misfit Boli Bolingoli after his coronavirus protocol breaches.



He said: “We are working feverishly in the background though and we do need support there. Bolingoli has gone and Jonny Hayes left in the summer so Greg is the only one who can really fill that role at the minute.

“He needs support so it’s the one area that we do need to strengthen.”

 

As frustrating as it is, the lb situation wasn’t necessary the boards fault. A stupid decision made us scramble to fill a position we didn’t need to fill, now we have to scout players in a pandemic, not the easiest thing to salvage

 

We should have had the LB/LWB sorted the minute bolingoli went for his holey that was august we are now in October!

 

We will get 2 in even though Lenny is saying 1! I still think someone will go though regardless of what he says be surprised if we get to 12 midnight Monday and we still have that full squad intact!

 

I must be in the minority: I can't see us making another signing during this transfer window.
