So is that 3 5 1 1 with Christie playing behind Eddy?

Yet again he seems to be trying to prove a point that he can outsmart the fans and himself.

    Just play a * 352 already Lennon!
Ajeti is fit, get him started with Édouard for * sake and stop pretending christie is a striker. I swear he is doing this to prove he was right to play Christie last European game. Almost as if hoping he scores tonight to confirm the tactic was correct.

Then we have the issue of the wingbacks being lopsided and neither actually being a * wingback.
Frimpong for Taylor seemed to work before, at least it would give both sides pace. But even so, Forrest doesn't deserve that right wingback spot either.

Edit: as a whole, it's a strong side, but it has its flaws and has most certainly been "lennon'd" for some reason.

It's not the team selection I would pick or what I want to see. In the grand scheme of things there's nothing wild about it like previous selections.

The classic Lennon Shoehorn is at play as usual but that's something we'll just have to accept.

That side should have plenty to win the tie comfortably.

Would have liked to have seen Ajeti start but can’t complain too much.

Playing it safe with experience as much as possible.

Why has Elyounossi not been starting? Anyone is better than Taylor on the wing

    3-0 to the hoops

Mad how we've got one * left back who always plays and two quality right backs who are always on the bench.

Same as the weekend probably which was more like

    3-1-5-1

As Ntcham, Christie and McGregor all played at the same level behind Ajeti with Brown 20 yards back.

Be interesting to see how it looks with Edouard, even though we only won by 1 goal at the weekend, pretty much all the players performed well and looked like they suited and enjoyed the formation.

Ajeti did a lot of hold up play and linking up and led the line well though, Edouard tends to only do half a job when we put him up front alone, he comes deep too much, tries to do too much build up and dribbling and tends to never get into the box but he's never really played up front alone when McGregor has been allowed further forward. So with a higher midfield he might stay higher up the park.

Not the team I'd choose l, would much prefer 2 strikers but we have more than enough to win this. 2 early goals to settle my nerves and a clean sheet please. HH

Slow build up with no creativity, changes at 72mins and grind out the win at the death. Will take it, but these team selections are just mad.

He must feel that Ajeti is still not 100% fitness wise up to the demands of starting 2-3 games in a 7 day period and he probably wants to start him and Edouard Sunday. Strong bench all in all.

Both oh whom would instantly improve the side (frimpong left wingback and elhamed right).

But as others are saying, it's not the worst and he's trying to play it safe, but it's got Lennon's trademark random players shoehorned in to positions for the sake of it, rather than actually playing players to their strength.

Expect the win still, but equally expect to be annoyed as we make hard work of this.

Well, at least we’ve got a striker on :84:

Would prefer 2 up top rather than squeezing Brown, McGregor, Ntcham and Christie into the team.

Team should be good enough to to skelp them though. 3-0 :shamrock:

The way it looks to me is lenny wants to stick with this lineup/formation to squeeze broony/cal/ntcham/christie all into the team which is daft as *.

Still done more running than Brown, can't be fitness, just trolling fans probably or ego. He's trying to force Brown into the team each week so players who are on form like Frimpong, Ajeti are being sacrificed to accommodate these * up formation and lineups.

Our shitest player this season has not been dropped once, but some of our best are constantly sitting games out.
