Our squad is saturated with substandard players. Campbell is little to no better than them.

If you believe that Campbell is an adequate replacement for Brown, one of the most influential players in our recent history, why would you be against promoting players of a similar standard from within the club to replace Christie, Ntcham, and Rogić?

You clearly recognise that such a decision would be absurd. Well, I similarly have reservations about Campbell.

We already have a couple of excellent prospects, Connell and Robertson, who can replace Brown in the mid to long term; we need someone to assume the mantle now.

 

The club need to look at rebuilding the midfield because next summer we could lose a few of them that was it . I never actually said we should sign him

 

I would not be against signing a high quality DM if we don’t think Soro is up to it but Campbell wouldn’t improve us.

On Robertson I feel he is more like a McGregor than a Brown type player, classy on the ball and got an eye for a pass rather than a ball winning type.

Connell looks a boy with serious potential though I am disappointed he seems quite far down the pecking order he reminds me of Ledley (obviously not as experienced) in that he can do a bit of everything as a midfielder, can pass well, carry the ball and tackle, also being left footed.

McInroy is another who is probably the closest to Campbell in style. A loan move to someone in the SPL to see how he would do playing competitive football. You may find we have a player every bit as good or better just not able to get in our team.

With signing Turnbull we are probably overstocked in the more offensive CM with Ntcham, McGregor, Christie and Rogic all competing for a couple of positions before you consider the younger guys.

 

It's gone very quiet on the rumour front.

As the squad stands at the minute, it's crucial that we bring in a LB and winger.

Doughty's versatility could help to fill a number of roles but we also need a proven player who can hit the ground running in the LB spot.

 

I see that Alberth Ellis we were loosely linked with has gone to Boavista

 

Campbell’s mince.

Scott Robertson is far better.

 

It will be interesting to see how he does as he looked like a good player and could have given us another option in the wide areas.

Need a LB pronto. So unbalanced and weak down the left it's unreal. Teams recognise this as well and actively attack it. 1 more decent signing and we're done.

Was hoping we'd get a LB in before the Riga game, at the very least I hope we get one before hibs.

 

Campbell is just a hatchet man. I want some fight in our team but I’d rather they could play a bit too.

That is quite worrying given we are still just under 2 weeks away. It would also mean if said player is to play against them on the 17th it will be their debut, as they will be joining just before the international break.
