    7 months is nothing in football.

    If getting into the England team was his goal then I can't understand leaving the club that took him from being a not even considered to a call up, only for his own injury to rule him out.

    He left for money in my opinion, which he was entitled to do but as always with these types, the career goes downhill after Celtic.

    If he left for money he done it wrong, he turned down the team offering the most money - QPR. Ironically, I think they’d have been a better fit for him than that Norwich team who were 10 men in one half of the pitch long ball merchants.

    As with Sinclair (and Roberts finding out now) it takes playing for these yo-yo relegation sides to realise as an attacking player you do not look like a good player nor get the attacking chances you hope for.

    No striker in a relegation team scores over double figures in that league. Very seldom will that happen, specially around the years that hooper made that move.
    He scored 8 goals that first season, while also being shunned at times in favour of van wolfswinkle in a one up top, hooper is a two up top kind of striker for sure.

    Lad chased the England cap, he watched Thompson and Sutton not get call ups while playing for Celtic when they really should have.
    He had Thompson as a coach to testify to that as well.

    Hindsight is wonderful and I am sure he somewhat regrets leaving Celtic since that fall up never came, but it was never going to come while playing for a relegation side, unfortunately for him he was too quick to make that move and never got a better club chasing him.

    Not going to have hard feelings on hooper making that move, I get why he did.

    He was one of the best one on one finishers I've saw in the Hoops.

    See that he had scored 82 goals and 30 assists in 138 games.

    Hooper was a great player for us.

    What happened to him after ...ambition maybe !

    He certainly didn't kick on like I thought he would.
