Emotions were running high after the match the other night and that was his first press conference since the post match interview. He realised he * up and tried to rectify it.

It takes a big man to admit you were wrong.

For a manager at Celtic, winning the league is the absolute bare minimum. Anything else is a sackable offence unless you do an O'Neill UEFA cup final run. With how we have dominated over the last few years, it would be catastrophic not to win the league.

Cups and Europe are a key yardstick to gauge how successful a manager is here. That is why criticism of Lennon is quite relevant in the current circumstances.

We have not been convincing at all in Europe/Cups recently. Results against Lazio do not outweigh losing ties against Cluj, Copenhagen and Ferencvaros. That’s without even taking into account a very unconvincing league cup final agains the Huns.

One of the biggest problems for me is that we have not dominated the Huns in a game since he has been manager again. Yes, he has won on 3 occasions but 2 were very unconvincing (League cup final and CP game April 2019). The game at Ipox last season we were decent but we set up defensively and to soak up pressure. I have not seen us dominate a game like we did under Rodgers since he left.

Honestly I would have sacked him already

Win every game in all competitions from now on until we play the zombies, and then beat them convincingly. That's the bare minimum for me now.

Why is it everybody seems to think they know the inner workings of the club? That's the rid neck.

Emotions were running high, he is the manager and should have the common sense to bite his tongue and keep his cool, he made a * of the selection no one else.

Coming out now trying to downplay things the damage is well and truly done.

John Hartson should zip it as well...or is he looking for a coaching role.

Anything other than a win on Sunday and it's curtains for him. Absolutely cannot drop any points now. He needs last years post-Christmas run NOW. Every decision is under a magnifying glass.

You seem to be backing him to the hilt, just curious, why?

I get he is the Celtic manager and lives and breathes the club but so do us fans, that shouldnt be a prerequisite of becoming and maintaining the role of manager, beaten at home by * ferencvaros, same as cluj, dumped by copenhagen and aek athens, absolute diddy clubs.
Ive seen enough sadly to tell me we are going nowhere with the current set up.

Rodgers isn't a great example when referring to under performing in Europe. Thank * there was no pandemic the year we lost to Lincoln Red Imps

I'm not backing him to the hilt. I was * furious the other night and I genuinely believe he has to qualify for the EL or its time to go.

What annoys me is folk that claim to be ITK and make up * to keep having a go at Lennon. There is enough to criticise him for without kidding on you know what's going on the dressing room/boardroom

Well in 3 seasons he made CL groups twice and 2x EL last 32 against Valencia and Zenit...

I remember when folk said that Lennon would never allow us to lose 5-0 to PSG. Now we know why..

So something that’s been bugging him for a long time which he openly revealed without being prompted on Wednesday night, is now right as rain on the Friday without any intervention?

    Nae bother.

It might actually be a good sign Lenny lost the plot and said what he felt on Wednesday rather than the same old PR *.

A kick up the * for him as well as the team, I’m sure they would of had a meeting and cleared the air.

The big moment will be seeing if Ajer and Ntcham are in the squad or starting, that’ll give an indication about the rumours.

I don’t think there’s anyone here that I’ve seen suggest he didn’t get it badly wrong midweek, and it’s cost us big time.

The season was on the whole couldn’t have started much worse - Griff forcing us to change system, Boli being an idiot, dropping points in the league, and then going out early in the CL. We’ll have a tough job on our hands to even qualify for the Europa now, and we need some pair I’ve momentum domestically. I don’t just mean wins either, but actually carving teams open and creating real chances, while looking more confident at the back.

The blame for all of the above can’t be out on Lennon though, particularly the Griff and Boli stuff. I don’t think the Ferencvaros result alone is a sackable offence, even if was a proper 0/10 job tactically. I understand fans reach a pint where they want change, and things definitely need freshened up (3-5-2 might do the trick) but I’m not sure changing the manager now would be the right call.

The bigger issue for me is on the playing side. We have a massive, and gruelling, season ahead of us, and we’re short on numbers, and quality, with some high profile players likely to leave.

I don’t feel as though Ntcham and Rogic will be huge loses, firstly because we’ve signed Turnbull, and secondly because we don’t use them much anyway. Ajer would be a loss. Despite being pretty mediocre over the last year, it leaves us beyond threadbare at the back.

Either of CalMac or Edouard leaving is absolutely hugely detrimental to our chances of winning the 10. Unfortunately I believe one of them will.

You could turn that around aswell mate, Rodgers made us a laughing stock in the champions league getting pumped 7-0,7-1 5-0 at home

Lennon beat Barcelona in their prime and got us passed the group stages in the champions league

Where did insinuate i was ITK?

Im having a go at Lennon because he is a yes man to the board, there is no clarity about who signs players and he seems happy to accept whatever he is given.

Moving onto tactics and he is so tactically naive at times, putting round pegs in square holes, the other night case in point where 8.5m of strikers sat on the bench but he went with none, same as last year v cluj when jullien sat on the bench.

His sheer unwillingness to drop certain players even when form/age has taken their toll, nope lets continue and hope they come out of it.

Getting dumped by ferencvaros, cluj, aek, copenhagen, its just not good enough.

Now onto his media performances, giving off openly about players wanting away weakens our hand at the negotiating table and also creates cracks within the squad itself.

As i said above Neil Lennon lives and breathes Celtic, but we need better, the club needs weeded top to bottom.

Just my opinion think losing Eduard would be massive, like calmac as a player but plenty of midfielders at present that are as good if not better
