I think if our recruitment was anything near what it should be, a replacement for big Eddie would already be lined up.

Everybody makes mistakes in their job mate, as much as he gets slagged , after the Huns game on the 29 December a lot of defeatist s were saying then 9 in a row is out of the window

usually when * hits the fan we bounce back stronger, as I said after 29 December and even after Huns beat us in semifinals 2016 worst thing they could have did thinking they’d closed the gap and we came back rampant following season

Lennon was oot of order definitely made a few mistakes, don’t think he should be sacked thou

Biggest challenge of Lennon's managerial career coming up between now and sevco game and close of window. Many expected a need for a massive rebuild next season, many would move on on the back of the 10 (hopefully). Now Lennon needs to get players out (rogic, ntcham, ajer) for the right fee, hopefully hold on to edoaurd, improve the game plan/tactics and formation that is clearly making every game a slog and bring in around 4/5 players (lwb/cbx2/RW/st) all of whom have to be ready to rock and a success . All the while not dropping points or getting knocked out of Europe.

Whoever we bring in is going to be a big downgrade on Edouard, it's just a case of how big the downgrade is.

I've not seen enough of Toney to judge but he looks decent in his clips, albeit at a pretty lowly level.

Ajeti was a good signing but we need more, Klimala is clearly not trusted/* off and Griff cannot be relied upon to be fit when we need him.

If we were to get £55m+ for the sale of all 3 then I'd expect a fair chunk of that going into upgrade the team throughout. I don't want it squirrelled away for dividends or to cover future Champions League failures.

I wish he would stop saying it was a good performance, when obviously we were sloppy and didn't take our chances.

Players can either back or sack a manager, the game on Sunday will be interesting.

Lenny has heaped pressure upon himself because of his decisions and comments after the game, he canny afford any slip ups in our domestic games.

That's a Strachan tactic, he'd tell you black was white after watching us play stinking. I'm not too bothered about it as long as in the dressing room the players are being told that it wasn't a good performance.

My gut instinct is telling me he's realised he's overstepped the mark with his comments or realised that his own tactics were at fault and is trying to salvage some unity in the dressing room. I could be wrong though, it's happened before once.

He should be gone if he can't get us to the EL group stages IMO. Huge month ahead for Lenny.

That's an example of what I mean though. That statement alone contains two assumptions, one based on no evidence and the other plausible but debatable.

The plausible assumption is that we'd have been better playing a striker, even an unfit one or one the manager doesn't think is ready to start SPL games let alone qualifiers. In hindsight, it might be right; but it's genuinely debatable. If our manager is still saying Christie as a false nine was the way to make the best of a bad job, then maybe he isn't wrong.

I don't know. That one we'll probably never know. You may well be right that it was a mistake; but there isn't enough evidence to just flat state that he was wrong as if it were a fact rather thanan opinion.

The more problematic one is the "he signed" assumption. It's not at all clear what the process is for transfers. We know that both Lenny and the board have input in the process, but the impression I get is that Lenny is not the person ultimately making the decisions. Christ, he doesn't even get to choose his own backroom staff! If he literally doesn't have most of the responsibility for the signings in the literal sense of having these decisions in his hands, then equally he doesn't have responsibility (in the sense of being accountable) either.

And this is what I mean about a less simplistic story. I'm not dissing Lawwell either. He does a good job of the business side, I certainly don't want him to go; but something has gone wrong with our setup here and it needs to be fixed. For all that I rate Lawwell and want him to stay, if he wants to expand his area of responsibility (which clearly he has), then he needs to expand the area where he accepts responsibility to the same size.

Going into a qualifier with one fit player for a position, a long-term project and a not-match-fit signing made late to save money on the fee followed by that one key player getting injured is a movie I've seen before several times. We can get rid of a Lenny if we want (I sincerely hope we don't, because I think he's done a good job) and it would literally solve nothing at all.

We've been in decline for years and we have to address the systemic issues if we want to change that.

    TL;DR
The problem is the way we work and the only way changing the manager would change anything would be if we got someone like Rodgers with the clout to insist on control of his backroom staff, transfers, etc.

Why the * did no journalist ask him : "You had two strikers on the bench which you would assume to be match ready, why didn't they feature when a striker was needed? "

Why, because he's had a few days to calm down and reflect and realised that calling out players in public isn't the best way to go about things?
