He’s not the same standard as FF hence the difference in price tag. He’ll be a step up from Bain no doubt, yip not hard I know.

 

Anyone blaming Barkas for anything last night is off their heads.

first shot was an absolute cracker.

second goal Elhamed had it on his toe all he had to do was toe-end it out for a corner.

 

I think Elhamed thought the player was doing a swan lake if he touched him tbh but not blaming Barkas for anything

 

I'm struggling to understand this train of thought. Yes, Elhamed had a howler in the lead-up to the shot, but nevertheless, surely Barkas has to stop that shot when it comes?

 

It was right under him but I can’t blame him tbh

 

Is he though? He doesn’t look anywhere near as tall as Forster to me

 

Absolutely not his fault he had Bambi's on ice in front of him ! if we ever get that defence sorted out he will be a huge asset .

 

Should be saving the second for me but not going to blame him for it. El Hamed should never get into that situation. That being said I’m not convinced by him yet

 

I think you’ve always got to question your keeper when someone scores from 22+ yards out. If it was Bain in goals I can absolutely guarantee folk would be questioning it and rightly so. Bain actually saved a somewhat strike from a similar distance against Cluj and folk went mad when it went into the strikers path and they scored.

 

Yes, he's literally 5 inches taller than Bain, 2 inches shorter than Forster.

Bain is 6'0"
Barkas is 6'5"
Forster is 6'7"

I thought when the first went in he could have done better, but watching the replay he had no chance.

It was a fantastic finish, and was curving from

At least we all know he's no Fraser Forster. Look at the difference Forster made last season in the League Cup final & Lazio. That's the difference between a TOP class keeper and the others. Last night we needed a Forster in goals. I don't think that 2nd goal would be a Forster type keeper who comes out and makes himself like "the Wall"

 

Not judging him until we have a settled defence.

 

Barkas just doesn’t look 6ft 5 to me. Anyway, that’s neither here nor there. Hopefully he picks up his act a bit because his dawdling on the ball yesterday was ridiculous.

 

Judging him off one game in which one goal was a screamer and the other Elhamed * up, you've got to laugh.

 

As bad as the defending was, I actually feel like he should have done better for the second goal.

 

packy bonner was raging with him for both goals but especially the second. he said no keeper should have let that in and that he dived too flat for the first goal.HH

 

Nah, not for me think that's harsh. Elhamed looked like he was about to slide in, hard to anticipate.
