    If this guy is surplus for Brighton why are we even bothering how good is this guy? What about that guy Liam Moore is he better than Duffy? Surely there must be an experienced CB we can get cheaper than Duffy

    I'd take the rags wording with a big pinch of salt Donny.

    Bottom line is the Turnbull deal is ALOT closer than the Duffy one. Motherwell need the money as well as the two rumoured loaners.

    Nothing is "paused" nor taking precedent.

    One deal is just closer to completion.

    And as we know, 9 times out if 10 we operate under the radar. The Turnbull transfer has been in the works for over a year and a half... Maybe more. The Duffy deal is comparatively still in its infancy. The key difference is the amount of * posted on social media by the players family, friends and indeed the player himself.

    Relax.

    For me it’s clear the fee isn’t the issue, it getting him on a wage we can afford and he agrees to.

    You know what I couldn't care less anymore. I think if the player can afford to take a drop in his wages he will come here end of. I don't think the club should break the wage structure or pander to anyone. Anyone with half a brain knows everything about what there is to gain from coming to a club like ours and where it can lead to for their careers. If they have to play games or think about it too long then they're not for us. Seriously fans are getting in too much a frenzy about this

    It could be a very important day for this one.

    There’s definitely growing frustration around the progress of the deal, but the idea that it’s been put on hold to focus on the Turnbull deal is absolute nonsense. There was a conference call between Celtic and Brighton last night and effectively what’s holding up the deal is the structure of the deal.

    Effectively to come here permanently, Duffy will need to pretty much half his salary and that’s causing some complications in the make up of the deal as to whether it’s a loan where Brighton pay a good chunk of his wage or a permanent where Duffy receives a one off payment to cover part of his loss of earnings.
