He's solid enough but we need our full backs to provide width and he defaults to checking back inside and playing a square pass when he's in space.

One of the few times he got the ball and turned inside to drive into space he immmediately lost it and they countered.

Maybe the one good thing about the Boli mess is that we'll look to strengthen at LB.

 

Same with ajer, although ajer is a better player.
They both are still young and developing as a player and need someone to take their place at times and rotate with.

I like Taylor now and for the sake of him continuing to develop here, I wouldn't want to see a player who is going to be undroppable and thus curb Taylor play time (well actually of course I would, but this is the Taylor thread and the lad is good).

He’s bang average and not good enough to be the first choice left back. I wouldn’t trust him to play 40+ games and European and big domestic games. Ideal squad player and back up, that I have no issue with.

 

does my nut that he never tries to take a man on.. he constantly passes it back when he gets it

 

He’ll be a good solid back up/rotation player for us but I really think we need to buy a first choice.

 

He wants to be watching clips of Tosh McKinlay. There was a lad who didn't need to beat his man to stick it on a pound coin. In an era where passing backwards was only if necessary. Signed from SPL too.

Just does not have the pace to take on his man.

 

He's a decent player and glad we've got him. Obviously need another option however.

 

I think he will grow into his role the more games he gets.
Id rather a left back who is defensively solid and positionally astute with composure on the ball than a left back who runs out of position and gets caught in possession.
Hinkel wasnt blessed with lightning pace, but he was a very dependable full back for us.
Find it crazy to see the criticism taylor is getting considering he has made very few mistakes and the alternative is Bolingoli who put in a few really shaky performances.

 

I like him defensively. I think he can be quite solid in that aspect but his forward play is frustrating. I find his dribbling to be quite poor and he can't really get away from a man

 

Can play the odd nice pass in or cross here and there but he's terrible for me..

First time he faced his man up today he got dispossessed like a kid and because he's weak he can never rough up his man to win it back..

His pace is excruciatingly slow..

 

Tidy enough player but doesn’t have the pace power or skill to get by a man

 

Desperately need an upgrade on him.
