The rumours were at the time Rodgers left that people at Celtic were expecting players heads to be turned and that the agency that Rodgers was connected to had their claws in a few good few of our players

I think the "I'm scared" comment was said in jest.

I would be first in the queue mate with the baseball bat if he was hitting out with that *. A megaphone would be getting inserted somewhere uncomfortable as well :giggle1:

As supporters we look at things thru a different lense than that of a player, we get caught up in the romance of it all, the belief that loyalty still exists within the game, but the reality is that to the players this is their profession and although very lucrative it can be a short career.

I get the emotion that goes with it all, but players will always come and go, i judge then on what they did whilst wearing the Celtic jersey, when they move on i don't really care, wish em well but that's that, we have so much to look forward to, amidst the most successful spell in our history, i've nae room for any negativity right noo. :67:

What does he gain out of lying about that? Doesn’t make any sense.

Love the lad for what he gave us. I will always remember him rushing back from the hospital strapped up and full of meds to lift the Scottish cup. Also always going to the corner to the Green Brigade and leading the choir. He was at the club from a young age and Celtic will always be in his veins no matter. He talks passionately about Celtic because it’s his club and who he supports and is the same as the rest of us in that regard. He also made us £25m on transfer fees and as such he represents the quality of player that Celtic have at their disposal and what development we achieve in our young footballers. Players like Tierney moving on in the top leagues in Europe will give us the power to ask top dollar for our talent. I have watched him once for Arsenal and I will always wish him well in the future, just as I take pride at seeing big Virgil being hailed as the best in the world because we spotted that talent first.

Very hunnish behaviour from some supporters. He owed celtic nothing more, he rewarded everyone with great performances in the times he was here. Always great to see a player brought through at Celtic go on and challenge himself at the top level

You’ve just described Rodgers. Not Tierney.

    Two very different situations.

    No, I have described Tierney.

The only difference between them, in terms of their actions, is that Rodgers walked out midseason; Tierney never had that option.

Why is he publicly bringing bad press to the fans of the club he loves so much? Talking about threats and spray paint etc. Not impressed with that.

    Nah, load of *.

What persona did he cultivate that proved to be false?

It’s been said already, but I bet that wasn’t his first chance to leave. It’s such a pathetic mindset to bring someone down for having ambitions to challenge themselves at the highest level. It’s not just a Premier League club, it’s one of the biggest clubs on the planet looking to get back to their best.

We are a stepping stone for the majority of players that come here. That’s just a fact. Difference is Tierney started here and will more than likely finish here. It’s not like Dembele or Van Dijk who came and went. Nobody holds a grudge against them because they aren’t Celtic fans.

    Great watch that.

Dont hold any grudges or badness towards him. As soon as a player leaves that's it for me. With him it was inevitable anyway. The celtic fan factor just makes it harder for others to accept but he is no different from Virgil or Dembele or soon to be Edouard in the sense he was destined for greatness.

Hes still celtic daft. Always will.be. As I said at the time it's all well and good "@TamBhoy1888HH" sitting on twitter as a 40 year old having never played fitba in his puff saying I'd never leave Celtic blah blah.

It's not all black and white. Too many * quick to jump to conclusions. Would be interested to see what the majority would do if they were put in his position. It's a short career. Especially with the injuries he was picking up.
