I’d heard that he’s notified his current agency that he’s leaving but effectively serving a notice period and can’t officially appoint a new agent (therefore won’t move) until 1st September. Not sure how much truth there is in that.

 

I really hope toney runs his contract down and signs on a free contract in January just to * the Peterborough board off for making this so hard

 

I don't see why his club is getting a hard time. Apart from going public that is. But if this was us and eddy then we would want the most money for him. We would take anyone's first offer especially if it was a low offer that came nowhere near our valuation

 

The public stuff only ever calling out Celtic andoonly Celtic is what * off people and rightfully so.

 

Since when is an agent absolutely necessary for a player to move clubs?

 

I think it is mainly because the way they’ve behaved in the media to be fair. I don’t think anyone really has a problem with them getting the best deal they can. If it wasn’t for the comments in the media I would say fair play, instead I want them liquidated.

 

All I can say to that is * I totally agree he shouldn't have made it public

 

I don’t agree with players purposely running down their contract.

But if Toney refused to play and sat on his * for the rest of his it would be hilarious, whether he came here or not.

Preferably I’d like him to keep playing football and get him on a free or push the deal through in January for a couple million.

 

I agree with you that they shouldn’t be, but unfortunately they play a huge part in transfers in modern football. If Toney is unhappy with his current agency (which appears to be the case) then he won’t want them profiting off his move and will therefore wait until they no longer represent him.

I'd be worried if he's replacing Ed long term.

But if we do go back for him, personally I'd get a deal done for a free next season.

Peterbrough will come back to us, but I'd greatly reduce the fee now.

 

Despite what Peterborough say about only selling him for what they want, they know that they will have to sell him at some point because that's how they survive.

They'll have 2 figures in mind.

One which will be an overall figure including any profit. Could be a few million either way.

One which is a figure they'll accept purley beneficial to the club. This will be the minimum they'll accept.

Barry Fry has been saying for years they rely on player sales to keep ticking over.

Edoaurd is irreplaceable but for me it will be ajeti and not Toney that would be best placed to make up the goals we will be missing when he's gone. Really need a good loan for afolabi to see if he can step him to be even a squad player next season
