    Van Dijk’s personal * life didn’t lead to heavy fines from the SFA, an apology to political leaders, game postponements, jeopardy of European games and fixtures, lies to management, * over of team mates, fixture congestion, breaching national professional protocols, unnecessary risking infecting our clubs players and staff with a snowball effect, infecting another clubs players and staff, breaking club rules and generally being terrible at playing in arguable the most important season any of us will ever see.

    Agreed 100%. No need for the mental battering of anyone. I personally dispise the thought of anyone being tortured mentally, even my worsed enemy.

    The lad was thinking with his * and as he has done on previous occasions and obviously thought he was above the law.

    I hope he will never play for us again but admittedly I am surprised at the clubs lack of keen motivation to resolve this. Neil Lennon saying yesterday that nothing was resolved is a hard kick in the teeth to those who have faithfully put money into the club through tickets or merchandise over the last few months. The club want £££ back for him understandibly but it aint going to happen. I will be very surprised if anyone will take him given his poor form and poor attitude.

    The club likely have to adhere to employment law. There's probably procedures that need to be followed and it might not be as simple as we all think. It's clear that he wont be playing for the first team again and will most likely be quietly edged towards the exit at some point.

    That wasn't a mistake, he didn't accidentally break both club and government rules. He didn't simply forget to tell the club he had left the country. Sooner the guy is gone the better!
