Think purely because a team like West Brom or a good champ team would happily pay 6/7M+ for him & the fact he's hitting his prime for next two year it's probably gonna be around that. If they're asking for a 2m loan fee for a season he's not gonna be cheap.

I agree though, Shane Duffy could come up Scotland and play for us for next 4 years easy, if not Duffy then lets get someone of his ilk, a proper commanding defender who is complimented by the likes of Ajer & Jullien who are more comfy on the ball.

And everyone could tell you before he signed on the dotted line that it was going to be £1.5m wasted.

I think if we're ever going to move forward, I think it has to be a mixture of the two. It'd be heavy on the youth with big potential to move on but we should be always looking to bring in players who are in their prime and could stay with us for 4+ years service.

    I really want him now

Brighton fans say he's a good defender who doesn't fit their managers style anymore. Was one of their best players under Hughton. Had a look on their forums and were saying 10mil would be a steal for other lower/mid premier league clubs. A no nonsense, big * who is an animal in the air - sounds perfect for us right now. In fact its EXACTLY what we need. The fact that he's a Tim is just that bit sweeter.

    Pleaaaaasse make it happen

I know we've spent a decent amount so far but I really think we should push the boat out and sign him on a permanent deal. A 7 million offer + add ons would surely do it.

Seen bits and pieces of duffy last few years. He would fit in well with us.

If we miss out it wont be a huge loss, the guy is good but to be honest id guess there are plenty of players at his level that are available.

    Thank you.

Big Shane sounds like the channel you had to skip to get to extreme milfs on sky channel 993 for the 10 minute free view.

Living in the city, I've enjoyed watching Duffy play for Bha over the past few seasons. And many of the observations about Big Shane on this thread regarding him (probably gained from Ireland games) are pretty accurate.

Essentially he's a traditional British style right footed centre half, who would tackle a lion if needed, and who's main strength is attacking anything in the air.

Graham Potter doesn't appear to have much confidence in his use of possession, particularly playing out from deep areas. Although he looked decent enough when playing in the championship (under Hughton) when the bha team generally played higher up the pitch, and had to try and break defending teams down.

i'd say he's closer to probably Boyata than any other centre half we've had recently, although thankfully far less likely to lapses of concentration (Katie Price shenanigans aside!!)

Definitely improve our squad, and chances of success this season if we do get him.

Boyata thought he was a pler though, that's when it all went wrong for him. Trying to beat guys or trying to meg players while.last man at Ibrox.

Duffy knows his limitations and keeps it simple.

I'd say he's more like a Joos Valgaeren. Strong in the air, strong in the tackle, plays it on to the football players in the team.
