What a * idiot. Hopefully he was over talking to another club.

I don't see Nicola shutting down football though... Imagine the votes she'd lose.

Games a bogey all football to be suspended and training also. Means we will have to forfeit the CL qualifying as will motherwell and Aberdeen in EL

LASK Linz where docked 6 points for breaking Covid rules, you really can’t argue if same happens to us! Or Killie are awarded a 3-0 win we fielded an illegal player

It is simply not true that Celtic need to fire him in order to stop the league being cancelled.
I doubt we'd be having the same conversation if it had been Edouard.

People should have at least the chance to make up for past errors in judgement.

Everyone is being tested and so far we've not had any cases which means he probably took precautions while away in France.

The idea that everyone who goes abroad self-isolates for two weeks is a good one, but i doubt many people stick to it.

Even i can't play Devil's Advocate on this one. Find him a club in France. Lenny wasn't exactly making him feel welcome anyway.
I'm sure that's been part of the reason he went to France. A sneaky wee weekend away with the missus.

It's not exactly crime of the century. Rather a timely reminder that everything is fragile at the moment, with the SNP taking largely the moral high ground.

I mean they already sacked off important ministers for not self-isolating and instead going to a second home, which offered absolutely no risk to the general public whatsoever. So we've seen the over reaction before and people are going to town on this one today.

I'm guessing none of you went through this and it's honestly the worst punishment, probably to be followed with him being transfer listed, which probably will happen. Although it might be quite funny if the club were smart enough to put a clause in around Covid-19, but i doubt any player would sign that.

So my guess is he'll be bombed and asked to find another club. I don't intend to spend the day worrying about this, when there are worst things happening right now, like all the other people who went to Spain and France, but did actually bring it back with them.

Some professional football players, I genuinely don’t get what goes through their heads.

You are one of a few very privileged people who are able to play football for a very good living, we all know how tough lockdown and restrictions are but really why go to Spain for a few days when there is a quarantine in place?

The guy is a muppet, not only has he been a hopeless waste of money on the field, he now has jeopardised the game going ahead in this country and I would guess our participation in CL if football is stopped?

At the same time though if this was a less publicly visible profession, say a factory or engineering firm or an office that’s open would members of staff not doing the quarantine period and getting found out be grounds to shut down that industry?

How much did he cost? £3 million I've read in some places?....

Rapid Vienna said last summer the loss of him had 'hurt them terribly' and he's looked a bomb scare in the Hoops.

And this is the kind of irresponsible thing he does where other teams have been docked points in other countries, unbelievable.

I think you’re wide of the mark here. Football is entertainment. It isn’t comparable to politics. It’s an industry that has been granted special allowances to ensure it can restart.

We’ve not had two very high profile *-ups (more of you count Griffiths and the huns testing mess), in the space of two weeks. I dont think Sturgeon can take any real blame here - it’s very much on us/Boli.

    Eh?

The health minister (Jeane Freeman) hasn't flouted C-19 rules. Did you mean Catherine Calderwood? If so, she's not a politician (and was never the health minister).

Furthermore, politics can't just 'pause' - it's essential that it continues with as little interruption as possible. Football is not an essential activity.

Sturgeon is amassing a lot of support for the way she's dealing with the pandemic - IMHO, her having the baws to shut down something as popular as fitba for a wee while would only increase that.

    Here the whole time
He may yet test positive though and has been in close proximity to other people up to Sunday, possibly yesterday. Anyone who has come into contact with him in that period will need to isolate for 14 days. This includes our squad, management, probably any staff that might be at lennoxtown and kilmarnocks people.

Given it is such a public case, and not like a normal track and trace from a restaurant or bar, the isolate measures could be enforced by the authorities immediately as they know all concern3d will be coming into close contact with others over the coming weeks.

IMO the very least we are looking at is no football or squad training for 2 weeks from yesterday, which in turn means no European football for us this season. The worst case scenario is all football suspended, this could leave us open to compensation claims from other clubs if they are denied European income for the season.

The ramifications for this could be huge.

    Must've been a duty-free run then.

His cheeks would've barely touched the bar stools in Benidorm before he had to leave for his flight back.
