I think the mental health talk is in reply to those who are making their own conclusions as to what and how Griff should be doing/feeling during lockdown.

We are in totally unprecedented times right now. It's very easy to say he should have been battering the fitness work whilst in isolation. For all we know, maybe he has, but it just hasn't been good enough?

Someone has mentioned in here, Griff may be the kind of player who needs a kick up the * at training. The fact, in my opinion, he is never as fit as he 'could' be even whilst at training surrounded by sports science and fitness staff, means that in lockdown he is probably less likely to be keeping pace with the others. We also don't know how the monitoring of fitness has taken place during this time.

I don't think anyone is suggesting he is in his current condition physically due to mental health, but there is definitely a chance he has struggled for focus, motivation and desire whilst away from the club during this pandemic.

I agree it's disappointing this has occurred, its far from ideal and I'd rather we had the perfect preparation for the season. For that reason, I'm frustrated and a bit peeved at him. However, he is human, and these are strange times. So whilst it's annoying, I will cut him some slack. Laying into him isn't doing anybody any good and is turning the situation toxic, this thread being the epitome of that.

Can't express how much I'm looking forward to him shutting a lot of folk up. Would prefer this was just in regards to the scum in the media though.

You’re right mate- what a lot of people don’t realise is when we are after another clusterfuk from the Huns a lot of us including myself take great pleasure on going onto their website and laughing like * at them all arguing and swearing at each other over Morelos, Gerrard and Tavernier etc

Theyll be doing the exact same just now on this thread and to quote Limmy” you played right into their hands , they got a reaction out you and that’s exactly what these media and people want “,

Ffs he's missed 50 plus matches, McGregor played 108, so weres the 26 matches from ?!?! He played less than half the matches of Brown and McGregor that's not nearly enough games to play if he's looking for a shiny new contract and wants to play every week. But hey whatever suits you ps I compared him to both players as they are both like him experienced international players that at present 1st team starters, something that at 29 Leigh should also be. Unless he's wanting to be a bit player for the rest of his career

I also think it's just a mental overreaction from a lot of people when you consider what the club have actually said about it. It's a fairly simple statement and concludes that he'll rejoin the squad after the friendlies, yet there's chat about him letting everyone down and being a liability etc. At least wait until there's something to crack up about before doing so.

Yep agree with all that. People seem to want to ignore, forgive or whatever because its Leigh and he's one of the boys. If anything happens to Eduard we have a big problem. For all those that forget, just how bad we're we with Morgan up front in the cup final !! Right now our only proven striker needs not to get, injured, suspended or catch a * cold because his main replacement /partner isn't fit. But hey its OK he will be fine for 1st game that matters

For crying out loud give it a rest. We get it, you have managed to find a hundred different ways to say the exact same thing without a shred of evidence. Well done.

Tell you what mate not sure what you’re job is but I certainly wouldn’t fancy you being my judge or jury if I was prosecuted with something “

“You “ I find this man 100% guilty of every thing he’s been charged with, case closed “

lawyers “ but you haven’t actually heard any evidence yet you’re honour “

you” I know mate but I read the early edition of the daily ranjurz and the sun , plus 2 guys on Twitter last night saying he did it and thats good enough for me”

Tbh our tactic didn't allow for a lot of games. And remember the wee man had personal issues for a good portion of a season.

Yeah this isn't great on his side and tbh if one of the other guys take his opportunity then that's just tough for Leigh.

But still. Think he has a place with us, he might though find himself another bit off the full team and need to live with that.

I'd give a more respectable reply but you are impossible to converse with.

Don't want to drag Lenny into this 'cause I've no idea what his thinking is.

We have to remember Griff is one of the best finishers Scottish football has seen in a long time, the amount of different positions and feet head he can improvise. Ronny was an idealist yet Leigh scored 40 goals for him so we have a very good player here. The rags seem to be reporting all players have to be regimented and toe the line etc etc cause that's what they want to do to their readers who love creativity but are not allowed to think it.

Lennon will be eager to get Griff back firing, both for him and the team, what he provides is fairly irreplaceable even Weissman would be a gamble. Klimala is hopefully ready to take a bigger role and Griff can be worked back gradually it's a long season and his experience of title races, important goals and movemment around the box will be invaluable, Lenny knows it too.

The irony is Griff's previous problems and coming back to form coupled with moving to a 352 was like a new signing for us last January

If he was going to be fine for the first game I would be inclined to agree with them. Imo though, he won’t be.

If he’s been deemed not fit enough to take part in the teams training camp in France and play a series of friendlies, then no way is he playing competitive football in less than 3 weeks time.\

That’s the frustrating part for me. He had done the hard work and actually forced us to (rightfully) change the system to accommodate him and Edourd playing together up top.

Didn't Lenny say Broony was injured then play him? Griff would be a great sleeper

Being able to converse means sensible and you are far from sensible if you think Griff current problems is just a one off. It's far deeper than that. But let's see what happens, if * forbid, Eddie gets injured.
