With the suggestion of Samatta, I was looking at his past teams before he arrived in Belgium, as i am always curious if players like Samatta moved to a smaller club in Europe first before landing at one of the title challengers in their country and he came straight from T P Mazembe in DR Congo. They have a 20 year old striker playing with them just now who was the CAF (African CL) top scorer with 7 in 10 this season playing for them called Jackson Muleka.

Given where he is playing and by the end of the video he is clearly still raw but shows some great composure on the ball particularly in front of goal in the early parts of the video. He also looks to have decent pace and that physicality about him that causes defenders problems.

Sadly that does not rubber stamp it. You have to have played a certain percentage of games internationally over a set time period and how high that percentage is is weighted depending on what country. But for sure 1 US cap will not get the job done with a work permit.

That is pretty accurate although the exact percentage does vary depending on the country and its national teams strength.

Chelsea being linked with Jan Oblak

Might rule out Forster for them

I think he could prove to be a good signing if we are genuinely interested as reported back in May. From the videos he looks quick, strong in the air and good with the ball at his feet. I think he would be a good replacement for Ajer if he went and given he would be free if we could get a left centre back in it would give us a good balance to a back three or two potential partners for Jullien.

I also liked the look of the big Serbian defender Vukotic we were linked with around the same time. He looked very good in the air but also comfortable with the ball on the ground for someone of his size. He was also available at a cheap price because his team got relegated and was only 24 I think.

Aye out of him, McKenzie, the Benfica B defender and Vukotic....He's looked the most suited to us from what I've seen..

I also liked the look of Vukotic as well. Beast in the air and looked good with the ball at his feet..

Mumin deffo ticks a lot of boxes for what we're after though. We'll see..

The season is coming in really quickly and we are still badly needing a GK and CB (or possibly 2x CBs).

We don't have a number 1 goalkeeper and there is no proven back ups to replace Ajer or Jullien if they picked up a knock - Bitton maybe but he's not an out and out CB.

Need to get these positions sorted ASAP as these are the positions that players need more time to settle into.

Think things will start to pick up on the transfer front whilst we are on our tour. Gives Lennon the perfect opportunity to access the squad. Previous years we have seen things pick up whilst pre season is going ahead other times it’s been a last minute shot. Can’t be complacent this year massive season ahead.

I am a bit worried about the time it is taking to get something sorted too, particularly with GK it would be such a relief if a deal for FF could be sorted, alternatively we really need to move on. The league starts in a 2-3 weeks and CL qualification shortly afterwards.

It is ok saying leagues are still playing but a lot of these are now coming to an end and there is still a good number of transfers going through. In addition, most of our targets won't be currently playing with their club if we have a chance of getting them so there should not be a barrier to bringing them in. My other worry is we are waiting to see what happens with interest in our players before sanctioning deals. As mentioned before I worry given our recent history there will be minimal business done until something concrete comes in around a sale.

Most of the recently reported rumours like Podence, Diangana and the likes all seem like we may have made an initial enquiry about availability on loan probably alongside a host of others but are unlikely to materialise, our enquires may even have been before we got Moi back. Weissman is likely to have a number of offers so would be surprised if we got him. On defenders its strange us and a combination of the same teams, Leeds, Brighton and Watford seem to get linked with an interest in any CB that the other is including Mumin, Kouyate, Croatian from Benfica B and Dedonker. Just hoping we have something lined up for players to come in shortly, Moi was a pleasant surprise to get done quickly but given the amount of players that have left between now and January including Sinclair, Morgan, Simunovic, Hayes, Kouassi, Gordon, FF (for now) and Bauer the squad is thin on reliable options in a number of positions.

People worrying about lack of activity are you really surprised?

Not as though its one of most important seasons in our history is it?

The Peter Lawell faithful will give it the ffs there's plenty of time but maybe for a change we get players in earlier and settled in the team so they are not thrown into the deep end.

He was one of the best player's in the championship for a side going up and at West Ham..

West Brom and a host of EPL side's would comfortably take him..

Who is writing this pish between Podence and now this.......

Going into three games with one * goalkeeper and isn't this the best time to get signings in and as usual we will wait till the last possible minute to get players in its the same every season to see if we qualify fo the group stages of the champions League .
