I agree with this Ely is a cracking player when he was fully fit and flying but I do struggle to see where he fits in a 3-5-2 if we plan to play that. I am also not sure he fancies dropping wages to come. If we value Ntcham around £15m, I would be looking for £10m plus Forster on a perm and Ely on loan.

The report that said we were only paying £15k of FFs wages last year is even lower than I expected, we wouldn’t have paid any loan fee either I doubt.

Ely was another that seemed well out the picture and came in after their window was shut I think so suspect again we wouldn’t have been paying anywhere near his full wage.

I'm not convinced Lennon sees us playing 3-5-2 as the way forward though

It's fine for the league but I think he knows it would be too high a risk in Europe against better sides.

Not sure when the window opens but I feel all these other leagues having to temporarily extend contracts for players going out of contract and the fact they will still be playing for another month is likely having an impact on our transfer activity.

There is a bit of nearly everyone waiting on certainty about what next season will look like when we are not going to get that luxury.

I just hope we don’t end up missing out on our target players because of this approach. It will be interesting to hear how many season tickets have been sold.

We need to sort the GK situation out urgently and also what is happening with players in the squad their has been interest in (Ajer, Ntcham, Eddy) to get clarity whether they are staying or not. I would say these are our main two priorities.

Then for me it would be a left sided CB, then a player to compete on the left side (LWB or LW).

Next it would be deals for youth team players from the big league clubs that are talented but keen to move for first team opportunities and are available for development or small fees like Frimpong last year. Alongside this I would consider a loan deal for players who can’t get a look in at a big 5 league club but has talent like we did with Ely, however I am not as keen on these deals as we will be unlikely to be able to sign them perm.

On the other side anyone around the first
team squad that Lennon doesn’t fancy should be moved on ideally permanently for a few, but if not on loan. The likes of Bayo, Shved, Boli, Hendry and Benyu. We have done well recently in trimming the squad down and given the tighter financial environment we are in all the saved wages of which some can be reinvested will be very useful.

Good point, suspect something like 65K a week and whatever chunk of the loan guys we were paying
    Eboue 15, Hayes 10, Joso 15, Gordon 20, Miller 5,
    Have I missed anyone?

I see we're supposedly linked with this Norway fullback Again. It was funny 10 years ago, but not now.

Ffs, he's turned into the running Ian Harte rumour we had.

I'm. Assuming it's just garbage now, we have 2 players for that position.

Would love us to sign these guys this year. Two defenders at st.gallen in Switzerland who are joint top, having a great year.
Silvan hefti can play CB and RB, only 21 then leonidas stergiou who’s 18 and already played loads of games for them at CB. Another CB we should look at now Hamburg haven’t been promoted and the bundesliga 2 is finished; Ricky Van drongelen, left sided and could easily solve our issues we’ve had for seasons there. Nurenberg have a good left sided player too who we could look at Robin hack who’s done well for them this season even with their relegation and he’s rapid.
Would like to see us try get benkovic back too, can’t get a game at Bristol city at the moment on loan.

all this after we’ve signed FF of course

Folarin Balogun rejected a new contract at Arsenal.

We should be all over that.

If he's not happy with the contract offer from a club that pays a combined £500k a week to Ozil and Luiz, I'd love to see his face when Lawwell put his offer to him.

Largie Ramazani, 19 year old LW from Man Utd youth team has turned down a new deal with them so available for a development fee.

He can also play from the right or through the middle.

Angel Gomes out of contract at Manchester Utd. Could be a very interesting option at both LW and CAM.

From the last time wages were reported On in the interim accounts you could add Sinclair 35, Morgan 8ish and we brought in Soro and Klimala who I would suspect will not be on anymore than 10-12 each given the leagues and teams they came from.

Both in and out from this point in time, all things considered with a weird window about to happen and not many great deals, I would agree.

The thing is though I can’t see Lawwell being happy to keep a hold of Ajer, Eddy and Ntcham if they don’t sign at least a years contract extension as they will all be going into one year left on their deals and their values will drop considerably.
