Adidas- 5 year deal - Pre order- 10th July, New Home Kit

Usually the club gets a small amount of the sales too but not that much. It is hard to know with certainty because the kit manufacturers rarely release details but from what I have seen it is typically somewhere about 10-12e a shirt that the club can expect to get.

 

I've often wondered how it works when it comes to merchandise sales. Like it's fair to say that we stand to make a killing here from the leisure wear side of things as well as with the jerseys. I would also say that a lot of non fans will purchase because of the 3 stripes factor.

 

We get a set amount £7m apparently each summer then we get a found pounds in the sale of each merchandise item sold.

 

Think sales might even shock Adidas.

 

It's something they will be used to, but yeah, I reckon they are going to be pleasantly surprised at the uptake.

Will be my first full price shirt purchase for a good while.

 

Would have been handy if they still had a store in Edinburgh.

There was an article that broke down the deal and stated that it was £7.5m per season, with bonuses that could take it to over £10m per season but I believe most of the bonuses were performance-related.

We do get a % of sales though for every jersey sold. Here's a slightly old breakdown of where your £50 goes:



Which is why buying directly from Celtic shops is always promoted as we get a bigger slice of the pie than we would if the kit is bought from Sports Direct, JD, Kitbag etc.

 

Can't wait to see the training gear too! Hopefully see some belters in the third kit colours.

 

Celtic sell a lot of their own merchandise so they will gain money this way; I have only bought elsewhere if I can get it considerably cheaper. I imagine a lot of fans are the same.

I just bought two new pair of trainers, I really shouldn't knowing fine well I am likely to buy what ever Adidas trainer comes out for Celtic merch as well, but heyho.

Not normally one for going OTT, but be sure that some shorts, zippers and training tops will be bought this time around, will end up dropping £200 at least over the next 6months on stock that I honestly normally wouldn't.

 

Genuinely can’t wait for Wednesday to see the things on sale in the shop sad * I know

Yeah, with the amount of preorders they will get they will probably want another 2 to 4 weeks before the actual sale date so they can order further amounts from Adidas based on sizes ordered and package them.

 

After lockdown we'll be selling a few more xxls anyway

 

I was wondering if that might be for US outlets due to the currency being in dollars. Seems strange they'd go on sale after the season starts, although these are strange times.
