It's alarming to see the increasing hatred and intolerance from the left and right in all areas of society - its now at a point where you're either for their ideology or 'you're not welcome' - very divisive and not helpful. Luckily they don't speak for all celtic fans with this banner, Rod clearly loves Celtic and is still more than welcome in my eyes!

That’s really not a groundbreaking statement from a fellow Tory.

    You're a Tory voter right ?

The banner IMO was uncalled for , but I think it's been blown out of proportion, * sake folk offended by everything these days.

Firstly army loving? Secondly nothing wrong with being patriotic towards your nation, loads of Irish and Scottish Patriots on here. Still can't see the irony so I guess its not my strong point :56:

I wonder if the Green Brigade are bright enough to realise that many of our playing staff will be Conservative voters.

These super tolerant, uber fans are coming across very, very intolerant all of a sudden. The anti fascist, fascist brigade.

I think it's them that dont see the irony.

Like everything the GB do, I can understand their reasoning and even sympathise with it.

Like a lot of things the GB do, I think they could have handled it better.

Following up their banner with a statement explaining the vast differences between our club’s inauguration/beliefs and the Tory government seemingly supported by Rod Stewart would have went a long way to justifying the banner. It would have raised awareness not only of Rod Stewart’s hypocrisy, but more importantly of the incredible charitable work the GB carry out every year to support the underprivileged people our club was set up to care for, while the government bury them deeper in poverty.

The Green Brigade are fantastic, but at times they could be smarter.

You're entitled to your views and what you do in the voting booth is rightly private; but if you publicly make a big deal out of supposedly supporting Celtic, you have to take what comes with that when you post something like that on a public.

Even as far as being a Tory goes, there is a profound difference between respectfully congratulating someone like John Major (who I profoundly disagree with and who, as a Tory, neglected public services and government investment somewhat; but who can be respected as a person) on the one hand and congratulating a sexist, racist, homophobic (all on record) piece of crap who thinks single mothers are scum, poor people are less intelligent and whose campaign was literally 80% lies and 100% negativity and slander on the other.

Don't do that and publicly keep claiming to be a Celtic fan.

A tory giving to charity is like someone setting a fire then wanting praise for trying to put the fire out. We live in a rich country, we shouldn't need charities. It because of the tories that UK based charities exist.

So much for "A club for all".
Hope Rod understands that he is much loved by most genuine Celtic fans.
Do these idiots realize that they are giving opposing fans a stick to beat us with, by stupid banners.
Where is this nonsense going to end? Dragging our beloved club into the gutter??

You what? Even if every * was a millionaire in the UK, we would still have charities, cancer research, foreign aid, dogs etc etc. Food banks is a thing we should have no need for. Disgusting.

Anyone who promotes political parties or ideologies that are renowned for hammering the most vulnerable in our society has no place at Celtic. * this club open to all pish as well unless it’s applied to race, religion, * and sexuality. All it does it set a soft marker to tolerate hateful groups that go against everything the club stands for.

    * Rod, * tories and * fascists.

Anyone player fan board member who is or voted for the Tories can gtf imho.and rod Stewart and Gerard butler Israeli IDF too.you can't separate what brother walfrid started this team for and then gloss over its all right to vote Tory given what those * have done to the working classes.im a 57 year old guy who seen what they did to the poor sick disabled and their anti immigration *.if you vote for them you have their blood on your hands.yes a club for everyone who has passion love and respect for how we treat our citizens. The only good Tory is a dead one.they can't hurt us .when there six feet under. If I upset anyone then too bad.and I'm not political just a normal person who is distressed at how the Tories are treating the lowest. Citizen with contempt.any nurse who is going to food banks and then told to get another job or buy a bag of porridge to feed their kids by these * and they are * should be helped. The vilest inhuman unfeeling * lighting 20 pound notes in the face of the homeless. Bottom
Line if your a Tory and voted for them and come to our games like everything's ok then please * right off.we are Celtic more than just a club for everyone.and I'm not a green brigade ultra. Tories aren't welcome at Celtic unless you can stand up and explain to the whole * stadium that your austerity. Policies aren't harming our fans.* off.as the great jock stein said football without the fans is nothing.we are * feeding our own fans with the charity and generosity of fellow fans caused by Tory * who are in our board and a minority in our fans. can't love Celtic and love the Tories .I I offend any Tories on our forum then my work is * done.and I won't apologise for it.ive lived too long to see these * care not one iota for whether I live or die today or have money to feed my family or if I wait six months for cancer treatment or who find a disabled paraplegic cancer victim capable and fit for work.* that's all they are.if you support them you aren't a Celtic supporter no matter what you do to offset it like giving 50 quid to charity as one Tory did the claim it back on expenses. And shame on the labour labou too for not getting their act together to defeat them.sorry if I offended any faux Tories on our forum.try the team that play in the other side of Glasgow they will love your gingoistic rhetoric and vote for you policies that are killing them.celtic is a way of life not a 90 minute game.when you wear that shirt as player or fan you are representing our club so respect our views.HH

So you don't think those that made banner are 'genuine Celtic fans ?

Also why should any of us share your obsession with what other fans think of us. Which is tied in with this 'club open to all' pish'. We are no more or less a club open to all than Cove Rangers, or Ross Co or Bradford or Macclesfield.

We are not a club for all. Take a butchers apron to Celtic Park, sing gstq and see how you get on.

The GB are more genuine fans than you will ever be.

I honestly can't believe the reaction of people to the Celtic support telling Tories where to go.

Imagine forums were around in 1988?

Actually feel sick to the pit of my stomach at some of the * I've read in the last day.

More vitriol and hate directed at Celtic supporters for telling Tories to * off than there was praise for them holding foodbank collections, collections made necessary by Tories in the first place.

Tells you all you need to know about the mindset of some people.

I'm alright jack, pull the ladder up and * the rest.
